Years ago after The Stars of Magic book was published a New Stars of Magic Series appeared in separate manuscripts.
What was the complete content of The New Stars of Magic Series? I understand the New Stars of Magic series has never been collected and reprinted in a book form. |

New Stars of Magic is a monograph series from the 1970s and early 1980s published by Tannen's Magic, similar to the original Stars of Magic series, on subjects such as MacDonald's Aces (Garcia), the Card Tunnel (Krenzel), the Invisible Ace Assembly (Kaufman), a 3-Ring Routine (Capehart), linking cards (Harris), ring-on-rope (Bennett), etc. However, unlike the original Stars of Magic series, secret gimmicks and/or otherwise necessary equipment were provided with several of these routines (e.g., Metalogic, Bullseye, etc.). Volume 1 1 - 1972 : Wild Fire by Derek Dingle 2 - 1973 : MacDonald's 100$ Four Ace Trick by Frank Garcia (includes necessary cards) 3 - 1973 : Okito Box Magic by David Roth (Written by Karl Fulves) 4 - 1973 : Chinatown Poker by Joe DeStefano (includes necessary cards) 5 - 1973 : Perfect Coin Assembly by Harvey Rosenthal 6 - 1974 : Technicolor cards by Karl Fulves 7 - 1976 : Incredible Card Tunnel by Ken Krenzel 8 - 1977 : The Signa-Tare Card Illusion by Karrell Fox 9 - 1977 : Eternal String by Maximiliano Londono (includes sample of necessary string) 10 - 1978 : Metalogic by Fred Baumann (Written by Karl Fulves) (includes gimmick) 11 - 1979 : Bullseye by Father Cyprian & Frank Garcia (includes necessary prop) 12 - 1980 : Ultimate Invisible Assembly by Richard Kaufman 13 - 1981 : Chris Capehart's 3 Ring Routine by Chris Capehart Volume 2 1 - 1983: The Immaculate Connection (Paul Harris) (performed by David Copperfield on one of his annual television specials) 2 - 1984: Bewildering (Doug Bennett) (performed by Doug Henning on The Tonight Show (?)) 3 - 1985: Radical Rebound (Tom Gagnon) 4 - 1987: Synchronicity (Michael Pizzola) (includes gimmick) 5 - 1992: Spectral Image (Steve Ronson) 6 - 2000: Really Haunted (Doug Edwards) |

The Dingle trick "Wild Fire" also included the cards, I believe.

I have always been curios as to why a second stars of magic was never published.
The first is probably my favorite magic book ever written. |

Whereas the Stars of Magic book is still in print and easily available, I take it that the New Stars of Magic series of monographs are all currently out of print, and therefore harder to find (available only on the used market).
Does that make them any more valuable/collectable? (Or not particularly?) What, for example, might be a fair price for, say, Volume 1 Issue 1 (Derek Dingle’s Wild Fire, with the cards included)?

I have Vol 1, #1 & #2. Wild Fire & Macdonalds aces. I have put them on the site tricks for sale or trade and received no offers. My price was $20 each which includes USPS shipping (USA sale only). The effects are single owner and in like new condition with all cards. If interested PM me. Bob

Thanks, Bob. I was just curious as to their possible current value.

Hi, I also don't know the value of the effects. However, I think my $20 price is reasonable. Bob

There is *another* series of SOM. It was meant to be published after the original ones but instead they ended up being published in The Sphinx. Not so long ago Genii republished the contents. Worth checking it out.

The problem with reprinting the New Stars of Magic series in book form is that many of the tricks came with props, and these are not readily available and cannot be included in the book. It would also make the price of the book way too high.
