He's also going to England next month for the big lecture tour. He's conned..er..convinced Me and James to help him out with the lecture notes. They should be ready by weeks end.
Did you hear that James old pal? You should be getting an email from me by weeks end. Best, Dan- "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! Greetings and Salutations,
Pete, keep us posted as to the dates. I'm planning on attending the SAM convention in St. Louis, because it's just across the state from me and my brothers live there. However, a chance to get to work with Gazzo in a workshop may change those plans, depending on the dates. Danny, good to see you dropping in! Nice advice to Daniel on the other thread. Do you guys have some ideas on what the notes will cover, their cost, and when they'll be available? Ditto, to what Robert said! Joe in KC Live a great adventure, make magic happen! |

Will the notes be available to the unfortunate few (that's me) who are stuck in "BFE" Oklahoma (me, again) through you guys, or is going to available through a dealer?
Danny, great to see you back! Robert, ditto to the above ditto. Have a good weekend guys. The Other Jim

The notes are going to cover everything you need to build a street act. As far as I know there will be no tricks. Just how to get them, keep them, and collect. There will also be some time spent on how to manage them. That is the most important thing.
The information is all straight from Gazzo but the wording will belong to James and I. I thought that was kind of a neat idea that Gazzo had. Get two guys who are still fairly new to the scene but capable of understanding the material. Then give us ALL the material. James and I then get to write the stuff we feel is important to the guy just going out, because James and I are the guys just going out. I still remember with vivid clarity the moments I helped Daniel with in that last thread. I beat my head against a wall trying to figure out how to stop it until I asked Gazzo. He gave me the frame work and I went out and built the pause into my show. After 25 years of performing Gazzo might not remember that problem of a rookie but he would certainly know how to fix it. A guy like me it happened to not so long ago. It is still very fresh. I’m pretty sure James probably feels the same way. So James and I asked the questions that were killing us and Gazzo gave the answers. I’m hoping that between the three of us we can give a real soup to nuts primer that anyone who already has a talent can use to transfer their show to the street. Because they are lecture notes there will not be any padding just the straight scoop with our problems and Gazzo’s advice. As far as purchasing goes I have no idea how that will work out. I know Gaz has a business with Gary over in Jolly old and perhaps Gary will sell them on his website? Next time I talk to Gazzo I’ll ask him and see what he thinks. The notes will be available to those who can't get to a lecture, but for the UK this will happen after the lecture tour. Obviously Gazzo wants them available for his tour which strats at the back end of April
UK price will depend on the unit cost when I get them to the printer. I'm helping Gazzo with rewriting and expanding his Cups and Balls booklet. Similar to Danny and James because I'm a relative novice to the cups (just 4 years)I get to ask a whole set of what could be seen as dumb questions about the cups but would be useful to a beginner. Again anthing you want covered let me know and if we can beat the deadline it'll go in. And from a novice to a pro Bob Read has agreed to write an introduction to the book. Can't ask for more than that! By the way still a few places left on the Masterclass on the 7-9th May in the UK. Simon |

Great, Danny, look forward to your email. I will provide a quick turnaround and get them to Gaz for his mark up.
This is extremely exciting to all of us. Gazzo is a bottomless pit of information, advice, insight, and creative remedies. Lucky for us mortals, he is also the soul of generousity. I believe the lecture notes will not be availble in the states until after the British tour. Gazzo is going to have a lot of other material as well. As Simon said, a new cups and balls booklet, copies of his Phantom at the Card Table, and also a joke book that Gaz has compiled of his and other's comic material. As Pete said, he will be in Los Angeles in June/July. We're all very excited. Can't wait to trot out my latest show for him to help me improve. If anyone wants to come out for the lecture and workshop, email me and we can help find affordable accomidations near by. This would also be a chance to hang out together and work a couple pitches in the area. Last time he was here, three Canadian busker friends of his drove all the way and stayed nearby. Jim PS: we're also lucky to have someone with Danny's talent with words to be writing these notes! But all you guys who've read and learned from Dan's posts already know tnat.

Gazzo will be performing and lecturing at the LVMI convention in September (12-14th) in Las Vegas. He may also be offering a workshop as well...

Greetings and Salutations,
Just wanted to drift this topic back to the top. How about some updates? The LVMI sounds good, but does he have any plans, even tentative, to put on a workshop in LA. The convention would be OK, but the only reason I'd go is for Gazzo, and if the money's equal, I'd rather get a workshop with him than a session. And how about those notes? Danny, James, if your posts are any reflection on the notes, the notes will be great. I'll be sending a payment as soon as you announce they are available. Thanks all in advance for any info. Have a most excellent weekend! Joe in KC Live a great adventure, have a magical life! |

Hey, Joe, the good news is that the notes are finished and will be available from the MagicPitch web site; unsure when. Maybe after the British tour is over. Gazzo was extremely happy about how they came out. I learned a lot just working on the notes. Gazzo is now over in Merry ole England. He may not be coming to Los Angeles afterward after all. I don't know about the Vegas event. If he goes to Vegas, I may go there too and meet you! Danny and I are looking forward to you guys seeing the notes!

The notes are being printed up as we speak. They look fantastic guys, printed on a good gloss paper which really do justice to the work that has gone into their production.
Dan and Jim have done an outstanding job on the notes, which incidently aren't just lecture notes, they are in my opinion one of the best peices written on Street Performing that I've ever read. Danny, Jim you have done a near perfect job, I see 'near' but I cannot find any drawbacks to the work you have produced. If you have the 'Krowd Keeper' notes you will have a blueprint for street work. We're just working on the price for the notes. Incidently Gazzo is presently asleep on my living room sofa (5.55pm). He had the pleasure of witnessing a kid's show I did this afternoon. How strange is that. Gazzo here to lecture on street performing and the cups and balls and he comes to watch me play to 27 five year olds!! Finally, Gazzo and I have just put the finishing touches to his 'Street Cups and Balls'. Gazzo is pleased with the end result, 25 thousand words on the cups and balls and how it plays on the street. In fact he is so pleased that although I am six years younger than him he now desribes me as as fat father. Going to be a long month! |

Simon,
Thanks so much for the kind words. I can’t tell you how much it means to hear that. I’m pretty humbled by the whole experience. James, Gazzo, and myself really put our hearts into those notes. It means a lot to all of us that all the feedback so far has been positive. For the guys who wanted a bit more info: The three of us just wanted to bring the street to the page. Almost the entire last half of the book belongs to Jim and I was floored by how much he added and how clear he made all the things that are so hard to describe. I included two short essays in the back describing what it is like to actually stand a pitch for six hours and what it is like to spend a day watching Gazzo from another worker's perspective. Jim did the electronic paste up and the photography that illustrates the text is spot on perfect. I do not know how many photographs James had to go through to find such perfect matches but I am still amazed looking at it, and I am holding my copy right now. There were a couple of typos near the end in some of my stuff but other than that I am really pleased with what we have in there. It is the real work as far as I can tell. I'll leave it to those who use it for its intended purpose to let me know if we did okay. Best, Dan- "MT is one of the reasons we started this board! Dan,
You are leaving us all in suspense. I just assume that the release date isn't known yet. But I honestly cannot wait for these notes. I've been wanting to try street busking for some time now, and I know that these notes can only help me with doing it right. |

The notes will be sold during the lecture tour of the UK and then put on general release after the tour. So check out magicpitch.com at the start of June.

Does anybody know where I can get the dates for the UK lecture tour? I live in the UK and would really like to see Gazzo live.
