The Prodigal By Atlas Brookings. You might dismiss it as 'process', but don't - it's not that hard and more than worth it.

Exactly. That's what I was getting at.
Switchcraft teaches a bunch of routines that you can do with just pen an paper. It teaches switches and it also teaches peeks including Acidus Novus.

Hi Sleepymentalism, in my "Anywhere Mentalism" I take a minimalistic approach for various effects, including propless mindreading and Mentalism with unprepared and borrowed items, which is convenient to know whenever you want to perform but you leave your NW and electronic gimmick at home
Another approach that you can take, besides specific material dedicated to this topic, is to learn techniques and apply them in those context. Equivoque is an awesome tool that teaches us the power of effective communication. Then, after you master the technique in different routines and contexts, you can apply it to a lot of different effects. Best

Several good suggestions already posted.
Something I have found to be very worthwhile - pick one thing and stick with it for a long time. I've seen threads by you asking about suggestion, readings, now propless mentalism - and I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting some. A new topic every few days, it seems. The key to developing real skill is focusing on one thing. Spreading yourself out just makes it take longer to gain any notable skill in any single area.

The reason I have son many threads is that I'm just making a giant list but I'm only going to buy anything when I have fully understood and performed and digested what I had before...in my 8 years of magic/mentalism I have only bought about 30 books...I'm taking it really slowly...just like of you make meat in a slow cook oven...you get better results..😉 Thanks Sleepy |

What happened to fork and spoon bending? Has that gone out of vogue?

"propless" - no fork or spoon to bend.
From what I've gathered metal bending is becoming passe for mentalists because too many magicians do it. The claim is that it is perceived as a magic trick. Unless your last name is "Nu" - The audience I was in definitely did not treat his metal bending as a trick - they were enthralled.
