John Riggs Penguin Live ad states:
John practices what he preaches. Struggling with a lifelong eating disorder, he applied his techniques to solving the riddle of why a person would consume food when he isn't really hungry. He found answers, and his weight dropped from almost 300 pounds to 200 pounds in a year and a half. Does anyone only have any information which he talks about this? The Penguin Lecture did not mention this only the ad. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5970 |

Zatara,
What is referred to is John's dealing and resolving personal emotional "weight." By once handling underlying emotional reasons, the desire to eat diminished. You can read the story of John's journey on his blog. |

According to a post of his on Facebook last week, his weight loss is down to finances: When he started budgeting his income more carefully, he lost weight.

Riggs jr. here. Funny to find this a topic of discussion! I can tell you a little about dad's weight loss which was quite a dramatic change (physically and mentally).
Dad's childhood was insane (to put it mildly) and he did indeed have an eating disorder through the 80's and 90's stemming from this. At the height he was over 300 pounds, was constantly exhausted and was starting to have trouble in everyday life. I am sure old pictures of him are still around and I think the DVD lecture "Unchained" was filmed before his weight loss. Around 2003 or so, dad rather suddenly decided to lick this problem for good. Anyone who knows dad understands that once his mind grasps onto something, he will explore it completely and totally to its end. So, too, it was with his weight loss as he researched everything he could, changed his diet, started a vigorous exercise routine, and most importantly, looked at the emotional aspect of his eating habits. This lead him to dramatically eliminate a lot of stressors in his life while also developing new strategies for dealing with things. You'll hear dad reference Buddhism a lot these days - this period was the beginning of his intense interest in the subject. His mother died in the early stages of his efforts which I worried might derail him, but he remained rock solid. Not surprisingly, once he had figured out the mental aspect, he no longer had to really diet or exercise: The weight came off and stayed off on its own. And not only did his physical appearance benefit but also his energy and focus improved which increased his creative output 10-fold. He's one of these people now who instead of slowing down as they get older, he just gains more and more momentum. Buried somewhere on his website was a blog which detailed his entire journey which I thought he was going to turn into an e-book. I am not sure if that ever actually came to fruition or not but I will ask him about it when I see him tomorrow. My Best, Jonathan |

His Lecture is one of the best in my opinion.
And I am glad that he is one good example of how our abilities to create inspiration in others and influence other psyche can also influence our own, break habits, change belief and do good life changes. In the last 2 years I also drop fat weight, gain muscle learn how to eat and feel like never before. I get now more bookings as well because of a new healthy appearance. Anyone who has problems in this area can contact me privately and I will help for sure. Best
Pablo
