This is a wonderful book on mentalism by Atlas Brookings published this month. It is a 224 page hard cover by a British mentalist which I found to be truly amazing. I plan to use a number of effects from this in performance. The clever humor by the author and his excellent communication skills make the book a mentalist's treasure.

Atlas is American and touchy when people think he is British Smile

I will have to ask him. I know him only by email and reading his material.

Then perhaps he should not say things like "...suss out the details" in their podcast. Smile

That just shows that he has traveled far amid strange peoples and distant lands.

J100taylor - Thank you for letting me know. I mentioned it to Atlas by email and he told me not to worry and that he didn't mind being called British. Of course I have only known him by email.
Thanks again.

Us Brits mind him being called British. Him, and that other foreign bloke with the funny accent, Michael Murray!

Fortunately, accents are minimally involved in writing!
We Canadians have to put up with both Americans and Brits (but we have learned a lot from both)!

Canadians are like Americans, but with health care and without guns!

That is certainly part of it George. I think that Canadian and American (and British) mentalists (and others) will equally enjoy Atlas Brooking's 224 page book with 21 chapters of clever original mentalism.

At the beginning of this book, Atlas encourages readers to be wary of shoddy mentalism material and presents a list of questions to assist in evaluating their value.

Yes, indeed he is American but has moved to Britain. Regardless of his place of origin he has an excellent grasp of mentallism and has shared some very clever material with us in he new book.

Early in the book Atlas deconstructs a mentalism piece that had little punch and demonstrated how to present it as a piece of strong mentalism.

Thanks John! I'm very pleased you enjoyed the book.

I am indeed an American, no matter what Michael Murray and Ken Dyne claim - I am not a Canadian. Regardless of how often they say it. Not Canadian.

Best,

Atlas

Atlas, thank you for writing this book! It is such a gold mine of mentalism with so many fleshed-out routines.

I don't often pop up and let people know about reviews that get written about my work - but MAGICSEEN Magazine has just given The Intrepid Rogue's Manual of Deception the highest rating possible, the full five stars - and anyone who follows that publication knows that they don't hand out many of those. I truly feel it is my best book to date and am honoured that they agreed and rated it so highly!

That felt good.

Best,

Atlas
