I think with only one response that related to not buying leather books I think it’s going to be a case of getting a one off set done for myself.

Ok - more unwanted and unhelpful advice [I'm sure you know better than me]
I don't think people bought the collectors edition because it was a nicer binding I think it was the exclusive content I know this is a turkey voting for xmas here, as I won't buy the leather version... If the leather version [deluxe version] had an extra x pages, with exclusive content... then you would get a lot of interest. But you can't even judge what that means - until nearer the time you list a contents page for the books... So for the leather bound version - you get 25% extra content, yadda yadda... [or even the same content but you get gimmicks from the book premade and sent out] As just asking if people would rather have a normal book or a fancy book... well yeah fancy - but how much more will it cost... that isn't enough They need to have an idea of any other differences... Just my thoughts for what they are worth |

Those are all good points although I think more bought the collectors for the quality than the additional content than you give credit for as the additional content wasn’t particularly exclusive as most of it had been published elsewhere. Diving With Death is provided with the dice in question, Michael and Mykes were published in their books and WWPTD originally appeared in Psycrets.
The limited editions would likely have one additional chapter each not available in the collectors edition but the exclusivity would be down to the fact that only 100 numbered copies would exist. Price would be in the 300 quid ball park which is not a million miles from what a boxed set of collectors editions would cost. One thing I am looking into is including many of the items required for the effects such as the tickets for the lottery effects (there is another lottery effect in HC2), the predictions for the RPS, the something, something for the drawing dupe etc. However the challenge is including these things without pushing the price sky high. My two cents, I purchased the collectors edition because I much prefer the hard cover copies of my books. The fact that it had extra material was bonus and a nice touch. The fact that I am also using the dice it was nice to have the dice routine in hard copy format.
Btw, I loved the book and I am very excited for the 2nd edition in the series. Count me down for one of the collectors. Excellent and practical material. |

As one of the owner of Harpacrown Vol 1 collector's edition I have no hesitation and fully support of volume 2 and would like to ensure that I can have a chance to get collector's edition of volume 2 as well.

I’ve been getting quite a few pm’s asking about Harpacrown 2 lately so I figured I’d answer all the questions here and also explain what the status is.
Is it still in the works? ...... Yes very much so and progressing slowly but surely. Will there be hardback and softback? ....Yes so if you have the first there will be a matching volume 2. Will there be a Deluxe boxed set? .... Still undecided at this point but if there is it will be leather bound. Is the material stage or close up? ..... There is a balance of both. Some is exclusively stage, some close up and many that will work for both. Why is it taking so long? Well the answer to this is many fold, Since I started writing volume 2 I have gotten engaged to a wonderful woman and in the process I have gained a 10 year old daughter and some grandchildren. I have also taken up Astrophotography as a hobby which is quite time consuming but incredibly gratifying. I am also dyslexic which makes the writing process a bit slower (for example I am on my 5th edit of this post and I will likely still find typo’s - haha found one in this very sentence although that one was autocorrect’s fault, ok that is 6 edits). The biggy though is quality control. In some ways I have been a victim of my own success. Harpacrown was so well received and so many commented on the writing style that it has been a tough act to follow from a writing style perspective. Overall I think the material is better than volume 1 and in the pursuit of making sure the writing style is equal to or better than volume 1 I have rewritten a lot of the chapters several times. I do think it will be worth it in the end. The chapters I am happy with so far heavily include my personality and in many cases are very funny. In many cases I try to get my test subjects to read the chapters in my presence so that I can gauge by their laughter whether the humour has hit the mark. Likewise I have shared the completed chapters with friends who I know will be brutally honest about both the material and the writing style. There are times where their feedback has resulted in a further rewrite. I have around 70% of the chapters written but at this point I would say that 30% are at the point where I no longer feel the need for further tweaking. Funny enough one of the other challenges is that because the material is well worked I have to read a chapter several times to make sure that I’m not failing to mention things that have become second nature. This isn’t sales hype, in fact quite the opposite, I would say at this point that we are looking at a 2019 release, Blackpool at the earliest but Minds is more realistic. Thanks for your patience and whilst I have posted here to reduce the PM’s asking for updates, I really do appreciate those pm’s and am honoured that people have taken an interest in my material and my ramblings. I will do my best to ensure that your faith in me is deserved. In fact it is largely the desire to be worthy of that faith that is making it take so long. This will not be a hastily thrown together piece of tatt, it will be lovingly crafted piece of tatt!! Joking apart it is my intention that the book will be an enjoyable and entertaining book to read, not simply a collection of tricks. Mark |

At this point hard to tell but if I have any of volume 1 left I will do a bundle deal for both volumes. I’m hoping to keep the costs of volume 2 the same as volume 1.

There won’t be a Harpacrown 3. I’m not saying I don’t have a 3rd book in me but if I do a 3rd book it will have a new name. Volume 2 includes the material I wasn’t ready to give away in the first book and the essays continue along similar lines to the first book although the subjects are different. Whilst any future book should I write it will have the same straight forward practical material and the same relaxed conversational writing style the layout, design and title will be new.

Just to let you know that this sale will be ending on Sunday.
Probably not a good time to announce this while there is already an offer on. But I can’t remember if it was last year or the year before whilst under the Christmas spirit I asked for nominations for someone deserving of a free book. There were so many compelling nominations that I ended up sending out a lot of books. I can’t do the same this year because that ended up costing me over £200 in postage. However this time whilst stone cold sober and in time for books to arrive by Christmas I am making the following offer to those who through genuine circumstances cannot afford books like mine. This offer is not for people that simply want a cheap book it is for those who genuinely are not normally in a position to spend this kind of money on a book. It may be that you are a full time carer for a relative or that you have been laid off work and are struggling. For those with a genuine reason I will be offering a small amount of collectors editions at £25 plus what it costs to ship (international is about £15 on a collectors U.K. postage about £7.50. I will also offer a few standard editions for £15 plus postage. There are 4 criteria to qualify for this offer. 1. You have a genuine reason for not being able to afford the book. 2. You have a genuine love of the art rather than simple curiosity. 3. You agree never to sell it on at a profit. Recouping the shipping charges is acceptable. 4. You are willing to pay it forward and show kindness to someone else but without detriment to yourself. If you feel that you qualify for this offer either pm me here or contact me via Facebook. Mark |
