They look like small plastic bags to me, yet they call them envelopes.

Just searched Staples UK for "coin envelopes" nothing. "Pay envelopes" nothing. "Number 3 Envelopes" came up with everything from 'full board' envelopes to bubble 'mail lite' envelopes. The (really) nasty "pay envelopes" I know of were available at the UK's Tesco supermarkets.

Nothing like the quality available in the US & certainly not up to performing 4DT with any confidence whatsoever. Smile

There was a time, many years ago, when I only had one or two #3 envelopes left and desperately needed more for an upcoming show. Office Max was sold out.

So I just bought some large manila envelopes. With an eXacto knife I carefully opened out one of the #3s I had left, and used it as a pattern to make my own envelopes. Was actually pretty easy to do. Used a glue stick to hold them together after refolding and for sealing during the show.

Yeah, over here they get used so you can examine the coin without handling...

Office Depot brand "used" to be the most opaque...with that said, I have not purchased any from them in a while. Worth checking out. If you have one in your area pop in. They are definitely different than the ones you find at Staples/OfficeMax

Note that Office Depot and Office Max have merged.

I thought that was Staples and Office Max that have merged??

See the following website. Note the upper left hand corner where it says "Office Depot/Office Max:"

Office Depot and Office Max have merged into one business. But - They still maintain separate buildings and websites, it has been 4 or more years now, since the merger, and it looks like they are moving very very slowly. Most likely to not lose customers that favor one over the other. We still have another competitor called Staples, maybe that has something to do with this very long merger.

I have been in both, and they look very empty, as compared to before the merger. No high shelving, you can see across the whole store.
