Same for the Viking ones - they are thin, because they are designed with manipulators in mind (they are designed to keep the weight down for manipulation purposes). The thing about thin coins is they don't have the right balance for doing coin slieghts. You need a coin of equal weight to a real coin, and that is why I said the Luohanqian coins are the best - they have the right weight/balance for coin magic. |

What does it mean that thinner coins are designed for manipulators? What is the difference between coin magician and manipulator? |

I got a set of the Luohanquin off an auction site for around $30. They are worth the money and are a nicely weighted coin too.

I bought a set...like them a lot. However, keep tow things in mind.
One is you are rolling the dice a bit one these because the quality of the gaffs are uneven. I got a set with 2 shells and one was fine, the other did not fit well, like it was slightly bent and did not nest flat on the coins. Second, I have seen two sets - one that includes a jumbo coin and one set that does not and prices on several sites are close or the same, so make sure you know the set includes the big coin or, if you don't care about that, the price reflects a set with fewer gaffs. Knowing you know that, I'd recommend them as decent quality for the price and they really do look very nice. |
