Ian,

I agree. when I said "foolish" I didn't mean they are fools, I meaned it's a shame because by that they can get better results.

Trinity, it has nothing to do with my ability or inablity to accomplish this. it has to do with shooting angles, it has to do with knowing the exact impacts in advance so the director could guide the camera man, it has to do with shooting the same scene 30 times in a row (till you get the right results) until your crew sometimes come to know your methodes better than you, it has to do with letting your director and producer know your exact limits so they could script a scene to get best results.
I'm not saying it couldn't be done otherwise. I just say you get nothing (or very little) from astonishing your own crew and many times it could really damage the end results.
and I still doubt they didn't know how Gerry did it.

Nimrod , Israel

p.s. my staff is superb by the way, I think I'll pass your advice and stick with them for now. thanks anyway.

Nimrod,
That just goes to show how little you know.
best regards,
Tony Razzano

PS. What is your real name, Nimrod?

I suggest that Tom's idea is a good one and we all use our real names, either in the member name or by signing our real name to the posts we make. What is everyone so afraid of?

Nimrod,

Nimrod is your real name?
I apologize, then, for making a presumption.

No need to, you are not the first or the last to make that honest mistake. Nimrod was a king and a hunter (in the bible) long before he turned into a moron. It's a common name here in Israel and it's being pronounced completely different than the "Nimrod" you know.

Best Regards,

Nimrod , Israel

Nimrod -

Off Topic but thought this might be of interest:

Regarding your name - there is an article in today's Washington Post about a school in Michigan's Upper Peninsula who has a boys' basketball team named the Nimrods, named in the 1930s after the King you mention. The team has gained national attention because of their name and have appeared on "The Tonight Show". They are also selling thousands of dollars worth of T-shirts all over the world.

They just finished the year with one of the best season's ever!

(If you interested in the article, go to http://www.washingtonpost.com and search for Nimrod.)

... I'm beginning to think we have Penn & Teller to .. thank? Blame? Well, anyway, attribute part of the now-very-prevalent knee-jerk "Oh it's all done with camera tricks and clever editing" pre-conclusion anytime folks start talking about magic on TV.

Of course, P&T wanting folks to believe that all the really amazing stuff is done with camera deception is entirely "in character" for them, since they'll tell you every chance they get (ok, Penn will tell you) that all magicians as sleazy con artists. They're 'exposing' the use of edits and trick photography! Aie!
</Big Honkin' Grain of Salt>

I'll record the show, watch it, and make draw me own conclusions. Danke.
