Someone told me that VanishingInc is working on a new edition of Scripting Magic (and vol 2?). Can anyone confirm if its true? And what's the current status of the project? Thanks.

I heard something similar and I am hoping this comes soon. In fact, Pete's website says exactly that.
Hopefully Vanishing Inc can shed some more light on the matter. |

I've just had the good fortune of getting my hands on "Vol. 1" - loving it so far! I too am very eager for a second volume.
Best, Drew

The second volume is almost 7 or 8 months late to printing according to a Vanishing Inc. post made in the Summer of 2015.
In the same post, they indicated that a re-print of the 1st volume was already to go to print ... but that hasn't happened yet either. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......90500#12 Clearly way past due, and lacking any firm indication as to why so late, or when a release will actually happen. It's a shame really, as there seems to be a large number of posts on the Café made in the past year noting people either looking specifically for this book, or for general information on scripting a show. |

Nothing is overdue; we send our books to print when they are ready and not a moment sooner. Pete is still working on some tweaks to both volumes and we are working with him to ensure that everyone is happy with the finished product. We never set deadlines for our authors, editors or any other part of the team; we simply send to print when all the key players are happy. I suspect we're still five or six months away, but that's just an estimate — it could be longer. --Andi

No big deal, and I'm one of the guys waiting to purchase it when it arrives ... but when you make posts indicating delivery dates, and then those dates aren't met (or turn out to be a year later in this case), by definition the item is "late" |

I only have 7 years in magic and books began to interest me three years ago, I have like 45 books now but it's very difficult to find OOP books, or if you find them, they are very expensive. Scripting Magic and 52 Memories are in my wish list, and you are going to reprint both of them!
I can not be more happy with Vanishing Inc's work! Now I only have to wait for Scripting Magic and 52 Memories from VI, and Mr. Jennings Takes It Easy an Tough from Richard Kaufman. I would love a reprint of Collected Works of Alex Elmsley because I just can not find them (or they are above 500 bucks) Jorge |
