The 90s had some good artists. We talk a lot about other eras, but do you have any 90s favorites you'd like to share?

I'll start:

Can't think of any who started in the 90s. I preferred bands from earlier decades. Although some of those obviously continued into the 90s and beyond.

Jeff Buckley's Grace is one of the most compelling albums of any generation. Pity he died without releasing another.

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.--Yeats

First you start with the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fregObNcHC8

All you need is everything after the v=

fregObNcHC8

Now you have to frame it in BB Code.

The open bracket symbol [
youtube
Then the closed bracket symbol ]
Then the video code.
Then the open bracket symbol again [
/youtube
Then the closed bracket again ]

I'm leaving off the open bracket to show you how it looks without activating it.
youtube]fregObNcHC8[/youtube]

Which when you post looks like this:
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness...

I just found this. Too many to list here individually, but some of you will have fun picking through the list.

Lesson 2 in BB Code.

If you want to post a url but think the link is too long you can shorten it to a single word.

So taking what Michael had just posted:

"I just found this. Too many to list here individually, but some of you will have fun picking through the list."

Now if you click on the word "list" above it will take you to the same site as the URL below:

http://x96.com/sponsored/50-alternative-......-forget/

The way you do it is simple. Type your post as you wish and choose what word you want to link.
Before that word put an open bracket [ and url=
[url=
then paste/type your url. (removed open bracket below for posting purposes)
url=http://x96.com/sponsored/50-alternative-songs-90s-never-forget
then put in the close bracket ]
[url=http://x96.com/sponsored/50-alternative-songs-90s-never-forget]
then your link word
[url=http://x96.com/sponsored/50-alternative-songs-90s-never-forget]list
followed by an open bracket [
/url
and a close bracket
url=http://x96.com/sponsored/50-alternative-songs-90s-never-forget]list[/url
open and close brackets removed to prevent activation.

This comes in handy when you don't want to disrupt your post with a url. Notice how the word list is now yellow.

Lesson 1 was how to post a YouTube video. A couple of posts up.
"There's no time to lose," I heard her say.
"Catch your dreams before they slip away."
"Dying all the time, lose your dreams and you could lose your mind.
Ain't life unkind?"

The easiest way to find out how someone did something in a post is to simply click "quote" at the top of the post. You'll then see all of the code that was used. Copy it and the cancel the new post you just started.

That is true too.

There are a lot of BB Code options out there, but the Café limits it to just a few.

Michael- Collective Soul was even better live. They really impressed me. I saw them at Texas Motor Speedway with a bunch of other 90s acts like: Jewel, No Doubt, Sugar Ray... we were in the Army and drove up from Ft Hood. It was a good time.

When No Doubt started playing this song we had to leave the stands because people went insane throwing bottles and even coolers full of crap. This was the end of a long day at a show with about 250,000 people. Not really a fan, but it's a fun memory.

I lived in Hawaii with my good friend Russ for a few months in the 90s right after Blood Sugar Sex Magic came out. We practically wore out that cd. My good friend is dead now. Alcoholism at age 38. Makes this song a little more poignant. And check out that funky beat.
