Anyone who watched Whale Wars has heard them. Their "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" was the theme song.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is one of my favorite albums.

A little Collective Soul trivia... On one of their albums ( I first owned these as cassettes) the photography is done by Clay McBride... brother of that other famous McBride that we all know.

Arthur- let's say 90s ish. Music that you liked from the 90s. Maybe the band started prior.

Thanks, Theodore. In that case I'll mention Def Leppard. Here they are performing one of their songs in a joint concert with Taylor Swift and her band:

Their song "Mayonaise" is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard by any band. There are things in that song that no artist can touch.

The 90s had some good artists. We talk a lot about other eras, but do you have any 90s favorites you'd like to share?

I'll start:

AIC was my favorite of the grunge bands, and Dirt is an outstanding album. Barely squeaking into the decade was RHCP's album "Californication," which might be the greatest rock album ever, top to bottom. A lot of my favorite bands are metal bands that were well into their decline in the 90s...Metallica without Cliff is a shell. Monster Magnet's "Superjudge" and Corrosion of Conformity's "Deliverance" are great 90s metal albums, though.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

This band became a duo and the singer/guitarist had his guitar modified to play bass frequencies with a bass pickup and an additional output. Thanks Wikipedia. I used to like this addicting song.
