Just got some street shells which are fantastic!My only problem with them is thier colour-too light!Any one got any thoughts on darkening them a tone or two?

A thin wash of artists oils & turpentine is one solution. (Burnt Umber, perhaps) It's a great way to accentuate the shadows in the grooves. When they're dry you can give them a couple of coats with clear varnish.

I used acryl color for plastic models. It works well and the shells don't look like if they were painted.
