The Wonderland Principle by Mijrin is simply fantastic.
He includes not only very thought out, pre-crafted, routines with this principle but also provides many ideas on building your own psy-force using this concept. The possibilities are seriously endless. This is where this particular piece shines brightly, as many force techniques tie the performer down to doing everything in a very mechanical manor. This principle also gives you the tools to create something for your own performance that can be tailored to whatever style/presentation you want. My favorite aspect of the Wonderland Principle is probably the fact that the spectator is taken on a journey..which they completely immerse themselves in. Mijrin will show you that when a spectator is very involved in routines such as these, you can honestly get away with murder. Not to mention some solid theory and insight on how performers should present themselves to others. This proves to be quite refreshing. Though I have not read any of the other pieces from this new PDF, in my honest opinion this piece of mentalism is powerful enough to be sold on its own, for the price of the entire PDF (At Least!). Spectators will feel as if they personally created every detail of the thought on their own, making this force very powerful (very..."force"ful). I hope this has been helpful to some of you. Cheers! |

Personally I thought that the "wonderland principle" was a good concept that got a bit wasted.
The major problem I see with it, is that at the end it still boils down to a simple psy-force (name a small pretty thing you see in a flower garden) What I believe would be a way better use of the idea, is if you could equivocue a part of the force at each step (as opposed to making all the steps pointless at the end), so for example first step equivocues a "small" thing, second that it's pretty, third that it's living etc. That's what made the routine that this is based on, good in the first place. The principle claims to improve upon it's source but it takes away the most important aspect of it.
Reader discretion is advised.

In addition, Daniel Madison has also a good take on psychological card forces in his book "psycho".

Sorry for bringing a thread back from beyond.
Does anyone who owns this and Psychological Subtleties/Naked Mentalism know if this adds a lot to genre ? |

I actually don't own the how to force anything volume of Peter's PDF series but I do own the psych card forces, readings, drawing dupes, character building, zodiac, hypno effects, propless, and the standing on shoulders of giants volumes. The material is very different practically unidentifiable to things found in Psychological Subtleties (the latter I've pointed out as there are certain ideas that Peter has used from Psychological Subtleties, mainly from the first volume of PS, and expanded upon the ideas to such an extent that it's truly something special and unique to Peter). |

I am curious about this work in its completed form. I am sure it was just an oversight, but it was my understanding that contributors would receive a copy.
On content: I think answering more about these would warrant a move of this thread to inner thoughts. There are differences in approach. I would happily add some thoughts there. |
