Greetings.
I've been reading Magicmike's Postings, about playing in Lost Vegas. I enjoy,.. the enthusiasm, the success, the strength(!), he writes about. "..making a living." I really respect and smile, for this. Then I read, "Where are you playing?" "What are the regulations?" ,..... cont.' "Where's a parking spot?" "When are you playing? ,....NOT playing?" "....mind if I play your Pitch, when you're not?" "I've my own Pitch now. Right over there." "Here's my freind. Morrie 'Mega-Watt'. ,...funny nick-name, eh?" ,.... {please forgive my sarcasm,...irony(?). ,...I've a friend named Morrie 'Mega-......} Magicians USED to learn about, 'the Secrecy of the Tricks'. ,...maybe, today, as well. Street Performers, (it can be a lonely business,...😞) ,...'the Secrecy of the Pitch,.. the Parking-spot, the Plans for tomorrow.' , . . . . . . . . . . . . . ö. ö. . .ß. . . . Writing that,. reading that,.. I deeply admit, it hurts. But,... I tend to live it. ,.....i may be living wrong,..? i'm uncomfortable about the whole thought,... gallagher p.s.: I feel a bit like an old shoe, worn for shoveling manure. p.s.s.: The Art of creating a Pitch. Discovering a Pitch(!),.. slightly different then: discovering your buddy's Pitch(!!) It's hard. ,...easier to talk, then it is to walk. Have a good day folks. |

This is my plan for the coming summer her in Auckland New Zealand. There are guide lines and designated areas to busk but also not much to stop you from busking as well as people are pretty chilled.
Over the next few years Auckland will go throw a massive transformation. This will see a change in busking locations removing and closing existing pitches as well as creating new environments to to try. Early last summer I found a large entrance way to a office building. It was a great pitch on the weekends it was on the water front you could get people of the footpath and it gave shelter form the wind. But the office block opened a Café on the ground floor and use that space. I think if we play with pitches we learn more about our performance. There a pitch which a lot of people don't like but I use it a lot and find it works for me. But yeah this summer I want to brave up and try new places to busk. Hope this make sense and adds to original post
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |

I'm always curious on what other countries policies are for buking and what legal concerns there are for these type of performances...

Emilio5639: policies on busking vary from town/city.
A good way to find out about them is to type in a set location and such thing as 'busking/street performing'. Or try performers.net for worldwide posts. Since I sometimes busk in Yellowcustard's [see above] area, I went to check the latest information on Auckland city: http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/LI......ces.aspx An easy arrangement, since if you want a license you just go busking in the CBD and when an official asks for your license and you tell him/her you don't have one, they can write you one out on the spot. How convenient is that?! It can also be obtained over the internet. A whole lot easier than it was about 4 years back when you had to travel to an office in the city to get a license.
The presentation makes the magic.

I think Gallagher is trying to make a point about people asking for information about a specific pitch and how it's rude and wrong. That people need to hold this information deer and go out on their own to discover it, not ask for others spots
