I have been a lurker here for about a year. Maybe its time to actually be a part of the community. I got interested in Magic as a kid and had one of those magic kits and never did much with it. When Magic Magazine came out I subscribed for few years reading how things were done by the pros. It was interesting stuff for me. Like many things its a lot of work to learn how to perform magic and I was easily distracted and moved onto other things. I am now 54 and the ideas of magic got to me again last year. Over the last year I have started gathering resources. I have the "Mark Wilsons Complete Course In Magic", DVD's of Modern Coin Magic, and the Born To Perform video, and ordered Mindsights from Doug Dyment. I was not doing great on coin manipulation so am shifting to card magic for a while and maybe work on some Mentalism. My main challenge will be to actually put in the time practicing not spend all my time researching and never doing.

Welcome Driften,
You will be glad you joined. Bad news is, the Café can really distract you from practice but since you have made your goal, I'm sure you will do well. Cards will make it easy to want to practice. -Mary Mowder |
