Bobgill is absolutely right. Being pleased at the level of pre-orders has nothing to do with the bad behaviour from yourself and others in this thread and it certainly doesn't excuse it.
What would a lay person think if they were to stumble across this thread? You make magicians seem like a bunch of petty, small minded fools. |

Looks like a fantastic product.
What a shameful thread. Will the people, Brett I'm talking to you, who made so many false claims Apologise? Your behaviour has been a disgrace. I love the sven pad but the creator is coming across as a fool who needs to spend less time on the Internet and more time in the real world. Can these videos of the bender in use please be removed, they are pure exposure of not just this but many other benders. Ultimately I'd like to see this thread deleted, the trolls banned (it's the same idiots who destroy every thread) and a new thread started for this bender. |

Why do people keep going on about trolling in this thread? Internet trolling is defined as "making deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them". I haven't seen any of that here - just people posting legitimate questions.
People are simply questioning the claims made for the product. If there wasn't such a rich history of magic dealers making false and exaggerated claims about their products, magicians wouldn't feel the need to ask for proof. Dominic said "It bends coins of any thickness.. Even monster thick coins like the UK £1 coin bend with EASE.". Everyone knows that bending such a coin will take a LOT of force without significant leverage. The 1st video of Mirrah when she apparently puts a significant bend in a £1 coin with zero physical straining was bound to arouse people's skepticism since it was done off camera. In that video she clearly showed the coin to be flat before it went off camera only to return severely bent. In her next video, the coin is almost completely concealed before being inserted into the bender meaning it is impossible to be sure it wasn't pre-bent. And after the bending, the coin only has a very slight bend compared to her first video. Of course people will be suspicious after watching such videos! I agree that some people seem to be overly protective of the QB3 (probably because it cost so much money) but I wouldn't say that is trolling. But based on Mirrah's first video, anyone who buys this will be able to put a huge bend in a thick coin with no physical straining so it must live up to Dominic's original claims and I'm sure there will soon be plenty of reviews on here backing that up. |

Hi
There will always be discrepancy between two performances even if they are done by the same person. Even my most favorite routines I perform differently each time and for each spectator. Jimmy uses the power in his hands. His video is absolutely effortless and beautiful to watch. I play the piano and I've been trained to use the weight in my arms and elbows to add strenght to the hands and wrists. I used to play at concerts and this required playing very strong chords during performance and 5 hours of practice a day. Just because I am making a concious effort to smile doesn't mean that there is no physical effort involved. In regards to the bend...it will always be different. I don't think it's possible to replicate the same bend. This will depend on mood, food, physical, mental or emotional state at the time, motivation, confidence, other factors such as cold/hot hands, dry/wet skin, supportive or not supportive spectators, different hold of the gimmick, etc. In regards to position, when I bend a small coin I can do it from seated position. When I bend a pound coin I need the strenght of the entire body. |

You brought it up again. I'm not discussing it with you any further on an open forum so stop bringing it up. It's not fair on everyone else and it's totally off topic.

On Sep 28, 2016, Mirrah Mirrahculous wrote: Contrast that to what Dominic said "you can bend pound coins with ease" <<< this is why people are suspicious of dealers and ask probing questions such as in this thread. Thanks Mirrah for being honest there. It's great that you play the piano. I do too. It's true that I never see much bickering on piano forums, not like on here, but then again piano manufacturers generally do not make exaggerated claims about their products (that comment isn't aimed towards you of course). Ignoring the rest of the goings on in this thread, this bender will definitely be useful for some magicians, especially those who perform in more casual situations where having a plastic lighter and a pack of chewing gum in your pocket wouldn't be out of place and would blend in well. If this product had been described from the outset along the lines of "Here's a great new 2 part coin bending utility. It's disguised as a lighter and pack of gum. It can bend thin coins with little effort. It can also bend £1 coins but that does require more strength to do..." then none of this inquisition would have taken place. But then again, this thread wouldn't have been 10 pages long and they would have probably sold fewer units so it's all part of the game! |

C'mon... nobody want them to expose nothing... if they had made the demo from the very beginning everything would have gone in a complete different way... instead you have seen what has happened and I do not have to say anything more on that point...
If someone could think that asking for the truth is trolling... this one is not right in his way of deciding and his judment is not impartial. Saying so... I hope to see soon some reviews about the product! |
