Hello all,

I hope this is a good place to post this question.
At some point I'm certain I have read about someone presenting Sneak Thief as a piece of mind reading instead of as graphology, and it's been bugging me that I can't remember either the name of the person who was mentioned, or where it was mentioned.

Does anyone have any information that would help me find where I had read this?

Cheers,
Tony

Only the last one is typically ever considered mind reading, if that. Also graphology isn't always the premise. Psychometry and Readings are much more prominent.

In general, if you know a piece of information, you can play the reveal however you want. You can ask three questions that seem unrelated and deduce from that, you can do it as telepathy, as remote viewing, as body language, list off the alphabet and recognize reactions to letters, whatever. You know the answer. How do you want to make it look like you find out the information?

You should check out Bruce Bernstein also... for the participants it appears to be psychometry, for the audience mind reading. And you could check out my "Destinations" (Penguin Lecture). Jan

Thank you all for your suggestions on routines, presentations and themes, however I am not as much bothered by the routine or any similar routines as I am finding out where I first saw it. I'm sure it was part of a book and that part had some interesting thoughts on presenting effects uniquely that I would like to reread. I have a weird feeling it may have been Cassidy, but I've tried to search through what I have of his and every other ebook I have and haven't found anything, meaning that its now a case of looking through all my printed books and hoping I didn't see it in a borrow book.

If anyone has seen something like this somewhere in a mentalism book [or heard/watched it/seen it outside of a book], I would love to know in case I am misremembering some parts of it.

I'd start with Larry Becker, perhaps Stunners (which it is part of) and one of his earlier "world" books if you have them.

Or Max Maven's "Desire" (in "Color Series", 70ties, also later in Maven's "PRISM"), which predates Larry Becker's... Smile Jan

Someone else called it "Larry Beckers well known Sneak Thief" (or words to that effect), so I don't think what I am looking for would be in the book it was first written in, or written by Larry Becker himself.

Sneak Thief was created by Larry Becker originally as a lie detector theme. It was featured in Stunner Plus, but I'm trying to recall if it was originally featured in Larry's World Of Super Mentalism Series of books as well.

I would think you have present the effect in a way that fits your persona and your abilities.
If graphology isn't one of them, don't do it that way.
I shall see you on the other side.

Your answer doesn't really have anything to do with my question.
