A couple months back when I wanted to buy this, did not find any reviews. So now this review should help. Here we go.
Disclosure - Never met the author and do not know him. Bought this a few weeks back from Penguin http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5959 Contents - One poker size card and one printed booklet. Both well produced and good quality. Ideal venues - close up, one on one, street, small groups and casual settings. Pros - A single card, can always be carried in my wallet, loaded with 5 routines - 3 of which I am now performing often. All effects achieved by different combos of multiple methods. Easy to perform but presentation is key. The ad blurb is fair and true - well almost - a tiny wee bit of memory may be required. Methods are totally hands off. Good for walk around. Card can be freely handled. Instructions are easy to understand. Some useful bonus information is provided in the booklet. Cons - Surely not for the rank beginners, although that's really not a 'con'. Needs a couple of dry runs before diving into live play. Value for money - $30, quite reasonable, given the tradeoff - 5 effects with one card, imho. Description - Before I bit, it was surprising to find absolutely no reviews on this one. Added to that on the Penguin page there is no demo vid. So I waited for some time. Then based on endorsements of guys I admire as creators and/or performers AND based on my earlier buys of this guy, I got it. And happy I did. It is now always in my wallet and I am ready anytime, anywhere to perform to anyone (triple A criteria). More than the methods, which are btw automatic and almost self working, I like the presentations and spec management. Built in flexible. Just do one routine or all five - upto me. Good thing is they are repeatable with varying outcomes. Enjoying it so far.
There is no better freedom than choice and no better choice than freedom.

Yes, I fully agree. Pocket Minds is a great product. I got it a few months back from Penguin with free shipping. Since then it has always been in my wallet and I perform it at every available opportunity. Easy to perform and great impact routines.
This author has some really good releases some of which I got earlier including the Karma Deck.

Just got this and have to disagree with the above reviews. I purchased this based on how good "Zodiac Gods" turned to perform and how it was produced.
It is not a good mentalism effect(s). Poorly produced and overpriced. The instructions were hard to read as well with a color clash in the background. The card is not durable, not even plastic like "Zodiac Gods". The effects were very convoluted and not good, direct mentalism. Like going the opposite way round the world, just to cross the street. The description of the "effects" seemed very difficult for anyone to follow to stay interested in, that one would attempt to present and perform for. For half of the effects the spectator will need a calculator. And a lot of the what is presented is spoken to and from the spectator, unlike in the description. So many better ones out there for much much less. If this was a $4 direct download it would be different. But for $30.00, no. Paul Carnazzo's pocket mentalism has so much superior merchandise and material for $10. Outlaw Effects has also put out better than this for much less. To name just a few. |

To each his own, of course.
In the past few months since I got it, I would have performed it over 60 times so far. This lives in my wallet. None of the 5 routines given take more than a minute to perform and great reactions I get. Yes the process is more of a presentation than a part of the method. In my view, mind reading should look like a process and not like an instant sponge ball vanish. Adding 2-3 numbers or adding digits in a number are too basic math, I feel. Never found any problem with that, at least in my country. But then who doesn't carry a phone with a calculator app these days. The best part for me is that the first routine is repeatable with different outcomes and can also be performed for 2 participants at a time, if needed. I found the 20 page book very well produced and the card itself quite thick card board. Should last me a couple of years at the least. As a back up I have also printed a copy of the card and laminated it. Do not have Zodiak Gods, so cannot compare. As for outlaw effects, I wouldn't touch them even with a barge pole, after all the horror stories. And didn't find a single Carnazzo wallet card for $10, all seem to be in the $25-30 range, just for record. Of course, the world is full of choices and options. This one is my choice. And I respect yours.

Yes, to each their own. Paul Carnazzo's Dreamweaver may have gone up since I got mine. But it is worth so much more than this one. Zodiac Gods is a very good effect and well produced.
