After hearing the effects list I thought I would grab this at the cheap price, haven't had the chance to really sit down and absorb it all, but this is a brief review of all the effects.
White Dwarf: This is a great way to do a test conditions style performance, relying not on heavy technical method but clever psychological ideas to get away with the method. That's not to say that it's incredibly difficult to pull off, just that the thinking involved in the routine is brilliant. It's something I've read and seen before, and something I've had in my pocket ready to go in case I want to do something quick for whatever reason. Impromptu Dictionary Test: The method instantly stood out to me as similar to Max Vellucis dictionary test, however party of the presentation was done differently which I wasn't very keen on. It's again not an incredibly technical effect, but still very functional. Something people can adapt to fit their own performance style. Billet Case: This is possibly my favourite and least favourite thing taught here. It's an imp device that comes naturally for close up, has almost instant reset, is made of things that you probably have already or can get quickly dirt cheap, and most importantly for me it can be used multiple times before you make an imp. The reason it's possibly my least favourite thing is that it was included as an extra bonus in psychopath, which I was hoping meant it would be kept secret. I had not thought of the item before as a billet case, but I now carry two of these on me with both standard billets and business cards. The only weakness it has is the same as any close up device, that you need to have a reason to use it. 5 card miracle: A single ESP card match up. Probably the weakest effect possibly other than a miss, and probably the weakest effect taught. It can work well as a single opening item before moving into something stronger, however other methods for the same effect would be able to allow you to continue using the cards. The method however is useful, and Bob teaches you to make the items you need for it, do you may be able to do something better with it. FTDG: It's what he's called the living and dead test for years, so it's exactly what's on the tin. The method is basic, but can be set up on the fly as long as you have the materials needed, or half the materials. DNS: An interesting effect. A nearly self working piece of mental magic with cards. The thinking on the effect to make the reveal seem like more than the card are what might make this effect worthwhile, however it's not as strong as other effects you could perform with cards. Patter and presentation are important. Psychomatic deck: While the secret behind this deck won't withstand much probing by magicians, the performance with it is good and the thinking is solid. The real value in this section is the instructions for making it and another similar deck (no major difference, however knowing both lets you choose which you would prefer). Psychopath deck: This can be made up at the same time as the psychomatic deck with less crafts. A useful deck that allows for an ACAAN. This is again disappointing to me as I already got it as part of the limited release Psychopath, but obviously makes it more appealing for those who didn't obtain it. BW deck: This section is Bob's opinion on why it's better than an ID, and a few tips on handling it. Since this is a highly contested subject, I won't speak much on it. The reasoning is good for why to have a preference for it (though I disagree), the tips on handling it make it much easier to use, and the covering allows you to make a mistake without getting in trouble. The highlights would certainly be white dwarf, the dictionary test and the billet case. The download was certainly worth $20, and if it stayed at that price I would recommend it to anyone looking to get into close up mentalism as a primer to see if it suits them, however I feel like the money could be better spent at $40 for both new and old unless you are really wanting the billet case (I'm not one to say "it fooled me, it's with the price of the purchase alone, it went straight in my act" when it's a decent chunk of money for the hobbyist, but I wouldn't have spent anything on other imp pad blueprints if I had this [and the osterlind imp pad]). |

Still $20 on penguin. Says price goes up at midnight but does not state which date.
I love a lttle ambiguity. Worth either price. Dale |

I'm enjoying this. I'm very much a fan of the way he teaches. Clear and concise. I'd done White Dwarf years ago, but watching him do it with his added touches, had me digging it out again. Of course, there's other ways to get info, but I very much like his comments about "test conditions", which has me intrigued. Well worth the price.

If Penguin was sure that this effect is really worth $ 20, Penguin would be sold this effect separately.Because it is a logical and profitable. Filming and video editing - not free. This phrase is one of the most stupid phrases from the hype language. And generally speaking, it's benchmark message of this language. Because: 1) It is incredibly short. 2) It has no useful information. At all. 3) The first line encourages to purchase and do it quickly. 4) This should be done because it's Bob. 5) Come on. Hurry up. 6) The second line informs us that even one effect is worth the price of the entire product. Amira, you are a spam bot or a living person? If you think that everyone around you is so dull that will buy something only because "Bob. Fast. Worth" then you are mistaken. Not everyone. Also, the topic is already have normal reviews made by normal people. I think your attempts - meaningless. |

Hi Twisted. No, my act is structured already, but that doesn't take the fact that in this new video you can find a lot of value.
The Dictionary Test alone is a great additional method to anyone interested. Sometimes I am kind of a robot but most of the time a living person, have a good day !

We believe it is so good WE would have been happy paying the 20 and only getting the test. It doesn't mean it is going straight into our act. We never said that, you did. You seem to be on some sort of campaign. Make up your own opinions. Tell what you think about this product. |

Does this come with a signed, bent, spoon as well?
Ok, bad jokes aside... maybe.. There are only a handful of people releasing mentalism products, that have so far never been a disappointment imo. And, that reliably produce, as promised. I appreciate all that Bob's released, etc. But, I've been less then thrilled occasionally. I have a fair amount of his work already. Some I find great, others..not so much. I don't feel an overwhelming urge to get this. And based on the fair input here, I'm feeling better about saving my money on this one. 252PME

Twisted,
I fear you're not making a lot of sense. People have expressed the personal opinion that the Dictionary Test is worth $20. You may disagree, but I don't think there's anything illogical about it. Nor do I feel such an opinion necessitates a switch into verse form. |

This is not a personal opinion. This set of clichés. Such "people" dozens in the Magic Café, these "people" say the same thing. No-brainer, I bought as soon as saw,get this as soon as you can, x worth y or simply endless arguments about what the author is a nice guy.I think if you have no desire, the opportunities, the ability to write a simple and clear review then you do not need to write anything.Do you understand?
If you think that your incredibly informative opinoin "Faster.Bob.Come on. Buy" helped someone - you're wrong. Deano88,Chaz93,SevenSigma and others. They have written an excellent and informative reviews. You can not write are the same way? Then why write? |

Twisted, I'm going to use my mentalism skills to look into your mind, and I think I see someone pretending not to speak English well, but making it a bit too much like a stereotype foreigner on a 70s sit-com. Therefore you are trying to disguise your true origins. Which means you have probably been banned from here in the past?
How did I do? |
