Thanks very much for the kind words Alejandro, enjoy the effect.
And Pegasus for your thoughts without ever seeing my effect. This is a good piece of magic which I actually perform. Best wishes, Joel.

Hi John.
If there's anything specific stopping you then just ask and I'll give you an informed and honest opinion. Best wishes, Joel.

It takes all of ten minutes to shoot a demo and upload to YouTube. We don't want anything flashy. Just the bare-bones, that's all.

You might not need anything flashy but I would prefer a nice video to accompany what I do. However I currently don't have the ability or time to upload a video demonstration for you. If in the future I have time to produce a video for future releases then you will see them.
Joel.

I would say this is one of those effects that a demo should not be made. Wouldn't be fair to Joel. The procedure relies heavily on your presentation and wording to which some here would probably try to reply over and over to figure it out. Would they have success, I highly doubt it but anything is possible.
This is a very fairly priced and fantastic effect (and yet I still have not received royalties Pegasus from Joel, not sure what's up with that!) and will play very strong to a crowd. There hasn't been one bad review for this yet. If that doesn't tell you something then don't buy it and quit wasting everyone's time with your noncontributing posts that take all of 1 second to type. Hi guys!
In all fairness, I received a review copy of this. What you get is a very clever routine that does play like Joel says. There is obviously a compromise. There's always a compromise. But this compromise doesn't take anything away from the performance. The biggest reason I wanted to review this is because I already have a trick in my set which I use very often which sounds very similar to this based on the ad copy alone. This trick is Ted Karmilovich's Impossible Princess. In effect, these two tricks sound very similar. The only difference being the last card being predicted. I would just like to compare the two of these to show the pros and cons of both since they appear to be the same effect in the audiences eyes. Here are my thoughts on the subject: In Joel's routine: 1) The volunteers each have a limited number of cards they are looking at in their hands. 2) The first volunteer appears to get the fairest choice of the three. 3) It is mandatory that the 1st, 2nd and 3rd spectators each see each other's selected card. 4) This means they have to remove their selected card to show it or move it to the face of the packet. 5) The first spectator's card is revealed in the least clean way. A little pumping is involved. 6) The second spectators card can be named out right. 7) The third spectators card is fairly predicted. 8) No *real* questions are asked Ted's routine: 1) The deck is evenly divided between 3 people. 2) It appears the spectators have many more options than in Joel's routine. 3) The first two spectators are given a limiting factor (think of a picture card.) 4) The 4th spectator gets what appears to be a virtually unlimited choice (of a number card) 5) One question must be asked and answered (by raising of hands.) 6) You are able to accurately name all three spectators' cards with no pumping what so ever. 7) The volunteers do not have to see each other's cards and they do not have to remove them. 8) With minimal effort, you COULD predict the 3rd spectator's card. So with this information, you can see each one has different limitations. Purely from a personal preference, I think Ted's routine is more impressive. It seems they have many more options and the first reveal is much cleaner then Joel's routine. It is also identical to the other two reveals which Joel's is not. You do have to ask a question in Ted's routine, but the question comes in the form of sorting out who's thoughts are who's and happens at the beginning stage of reading their minds. This question is quite literally forgotten instantly. It is very casual and appears no information is given out. I've used Ted's as a stage routine many times (often to open my show) and it has always gotten incredible reactions. Ultimately, I won't be replacing Ted's routine with this one. All of this being said, I think this is Joel's best offering so far. It is very good and quite clever. It is definitely a viable option which I'm sure will hit hard. I just don't think it will hit as hard as what I'm already doing. Also, just for clarification, Joel's routine is very different from Ted's in terms of method. I am comparing the two based on effect the audience perceives. Hopefully knowing a little more about the necessary compromises of Joel's routine will guide those of you who are on the fence into making the decision that works best for you. If you can easily overcome the very minimal limitations of Joel's routine, definitely pick it up. I don't think you'll be disappointed by it. If I didn't know Ted's routine, I could see myself using this. Great work Joel! |

As Maddison mentioned this is similar to Ted's version, as I have his penguin lecture. This was my reason for requesting a demo video. 15 pounds is a lot of cash to end up with a repeat of an effect you already have, especially if you buy an inferior version, which this is.
Thanks BarkingBob for your non contribution diatribe as per usual. Don't tell me, this has gone into your working repertoire. Zzzzzzzzz. I would seriously consider buying Ted's lecture over this effect. There's not much in it, money wise. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4689 |

Here we go again, diverting away from the real issue here, that you're persuading Café members to part with 15 pounds (19 USD) for a one-trick wonder when you can purchase a whole lecture, which contains a superior version of this effect, plus much more.
PS: it's you're not your. Basic English language. |

Pegasus this is a different method and effect to Teds effect however I see why Maddison has compared the two but to call it inferior or a one trick wonder is unfair. This is not inferior, this is different and so is the outcome and routine all together. You also make a prediction right at the beginning which comes right.
If you have purchased this effect of mine then please provide me with your email address and I will issue a refund right away...

Thank you. You havnt purchased my effect and you've made accusations which are based on Maddison's review. You know nothing about the method yet clearly state it's one trick wonder. You're clearly out to cause damage.
