Hey guys,
Apparently I'm told eBay links are forbidden on this site. Therefore, since my earlier post was in the hope of benefiting somone else and not myself I'll repost but without the eBay links. Gary Animal is selling his personal set of Gazzo cups and his own personal pouch. These are available for a steal EXCLUSIVELY through two links at Magicpitch.com http://www.magicpitch.com Cheers to all! Robert Bloor

I was all set to jump on it, and my wife wanted to go out shopping this morning.
I was going to go up to around $350, and maybe you were already set to go higher too. But I am happy that someone that I know will really work with it, got it. Congratulations Paul! The last I looked, the cups had 3 day to go, and were only at $150, but I already have a set of Gazzos. BroDavid

I picked up a set of the original Animal cups and a Gazzo stitched Pouch. They are beautiful and well worth the money. MagicPitch is always having specials.

Congrats on the pouch! I have one and love it, it was a steal at whatever you paid for it, guaranteed.

Gary Animal tossed in a bonus with the pouch. He included his old set of cups! To quote from his message:
"They were the set I used with that pouch .The cups are the first Gazzo cups we made. Later we made them bigger and that size is now the Animal size. Which I prefer." Here is a real gentleman, folks, and he just had his first kid about a week ago. There is no better way to repay his generosity and excellent service than to suggest to the members of the Café that they go to his site and buy some stuff: http://www.magicpitch.com/ Yours, Paul |

How do you like them, now that you had a chance to work with them for a few weeks? I'll bet you have found that they are really great.

Bill,
This morning I practiced using three sets of cups: 1. Johnson Cups that I've had for two years; 2. New Gazzo Cups that I've had for three months; 3. Gary Animal prototype cups given to me as a bonus when I got the pouch. Since I've started working with the Gazzo cups the Johnson Cups seem very small to me. Even though they now seem small, they have a nice weight and balance and I like the way they move. I guess that these would be best for me in a close-up or parlor setting. They will do until I can get a set of Sherwoods! The Gazzo Cups are wonderful. At first I felt like I was trying to conjure with flower pots, but I have adapted. The weight and balance are perfect. Everyone can see these on the street, or even on a small stage. At first I hated the baseballs that came with them. I was never interested in sports, and using small baseballs seemed to bring something incongruous to a feat of conjuring. What was I supposed to do? Talk about baseball, about which I know nothing? Then, after a while of working with them, I finally let go of something. They are just my props. I don't comment on them. The prototype Animal Cups are very heavy. They are at least as heavy as the new Gazzo Cups, even though they are smaller. These are the first cups that they spun, and they appear to have decided that thinner copper would work just as well. [Note: I'm sure the currently made ones are lighter!] Using these in the same practice session as the other two sets was odd, they felt as if they were solid metal rather than hollow. If I didn't use any other cups I'm sure that I would adapt to these. What I like about these is that they have a beautiful patina except on the top where they are scratched to shiny copper. I don't think that I really have the collector's gene, but I might be willing to make an exception for Cups and Balls sets. These would have a place of honor because of their history. If you are at all sensitive to psychometric vibrations these cups have a lot to say. The Cups and Balls has always been the Mount Everest of conjuring for me. Perhaps I was intimidated at a formative age by all those quotations from the greats of magic (you know the ones that I mean). This one feat has been held up as the gate through which all true conjurers must earn their passage. When I set up to practice with the cups, I feel like the departed spirits of the greats are watching me critically. This is really odd, because I don't feel this way about any other feats in magic. I am only raising this because I now feel that by practicing with the good cups, one of the limitations has fallen away. I am no longer limited by the quality of my props. If I do an impromptu version with paper cups, or when I pitch the Adams plastic cups, there is a nasty little demon in my mind that says, well, how magical is this going to be, using junk like this. It is the excuse of a coward. The good cups make me face the limitations of my ability. How good are my vanishes? Can the wand spin be smoother? How good is my routine, perhaps I should try a different sequence. So I can understand why you collect cups. They are the crucible in which the conjurer's ability is refined in an alchemical transformation. I still have much lead in me. But I am not limited by my props! Thanks for asking. Yours, Paul |

Hi Bill
Yes they are very nice cups, I have had them on the streets for a few times now. In fact, I am going up to Bradford to do Gazzo Master class on the 7th of May and coming back on the 9th. I am looking forward to it. Once again thanks for the tip. Mario |

Mario,
Don't forget to let us know how it goes. Tell Gazzo that Jersey Jim says hi. Let us know how you like "The Art of Krowd Keeping" notes. Jim

Mario,
Thanks so much! That is great to hear. Danny and I worked hard on it to get everything that Gazzo taught us into it. We also put a lot of ourselves into it, as relative newbies, so it would be assessable to mere mortals. It should be available on the MagicPitch website after Gaz's tour is over. What was the master class like? Jim

Hi,
I've just been to one of his workshops (no location). Gazzo was very good but the workshop very undersubscribed. I learned a lot of small things, handlings, pouchwork, etc. as I already knew the routine. The pouches were strange as I normaly use pockets but I'm more conferdant now. The books are nice, well writen and printed. They will be worth waiting for. The lecture went well. Just a show and a talk. Some rude questions about money. Most of the attendees didn't seem to be interested in actually doing street work or C&B and some were upset by the humour. |

The way I see it is that we are guest`s at Gazzo lessons or shows there for we should respect that. Magic Clubs are often full of pepole that cant perform to save there lives, but yet they sit on panels for competions and they bore you to death with lifeless card tricks. In my mind they Give magic a bad name as they go on stabbing good performers in the back. Have no time for them and don't miss out on Gem`s. |

Hi,
I've just got the Gazzo 'Read Between the Lines' and my mate was telling me all about him. Shame he's retired. I think his one liners to people in the lecture were to show how he acts when he's performing. Matt |
