It says full performance, but it's not. Somehow he got the paper from her and then returned it.
I think that detail is important. Wished they'd shown that. To hard to tell from the trailer what's really going on. Just want to know if there is something new method wise, or just an interesting presentation. |

I really liked lewis' first release but wish there was a little bit more info because at face value, we all know how to get a written piece of info. I'd like to know what seperates it from other methods to achieve the same thing

This is more of a tutorial on sw**ches. I cannot for a fact say if these are original or not. He teaches both versions and then 3 applications of them.
His first release was great. This is alright. If you need a new sw**ch, then these will fit the bill. I really feel something like Switchcraft is a much bang for the buck with tons of moves to suit most if notnall situations. As for the routines, the mind reading application is great. The premise is something I like. The thought of card is nice as well but nothing groundbreaking. I just did not care for the ambitious card application. All in all, two nice moves that have their place along with nice applications of it. For 15 usd, it can be perceived as pricey but I enjoy Lewis's approach to mentalism and the first routine is something I will use (not necessarily with the move taught). |

Hey guys, Thanks for your questions! Lewis in France at the moment, so I'm not sure if he'll get a chance to reply himself; I produced this download though, so hopefully I can help. I've tried to answer the questions fully below!
If you like AOK and Lewis' approach in general, you'll most definitely like this as well. I LOVE this stuff, and I've worked a version of the Charmed routine myself quite a bit over the last couple of years. The lead routine is the default video on the product page. There's only about a second of the video cut as I purposefully shot that performance from an exposed angle for inclusion on the download, we wanted to show you a full performance though so you can see exactly what you'll be able to achieve with the techniques taught. As you all know, you can't misdirect a camera. The UNCUT performance is in the download instruction it's self. To be honest, It's still a pretty difficult move to spot even when you're looking for it, but I didn't want to risk exposing the action, as I know that SOME people like to blow things up and go frame by frame to try and discover the secret. (Better safe than sorry as that's certainly not the way to learn magic!) If you click the SECOND video on the product page, you'll see Lewis talking about exactly what is in the download. You'll also see how FAST and FLUIDLY the move is done in the ambitious card segment of that video. The card is off camera for literally a split second and the move is already done and cleaned up, as far as the audience will be concerned, it never left their sight at all. Essentially, here is the full contents: You will learn two of Lewis' billet moves, which of course can also be applied to playing cards if you're more magically minded than mentalism focused! Lewis goes over these two moves (they're similar, it's just so you're covered for every performance situation), an extra move you *might* use for some routines, the lead routine and also two more ways you could apply this move, as the blurb on the page discusses. The big advantage (in my eyes) with this over other methods is that it is THE cleanest and most organic way of performing the Charmed routine. The routine it's self is beautifully put together, of course, which also shouldn't be dismissed. Finally, this shows you how to apply the moves; I've had conversations with a bunch of people who have learnt all sorts of billet moves, but aren't confident in how to apply them in a routine - This will break that barrier and give you the perfect structure. As you know from AOK, Lewis keeps things dead simple and well choreographed to ensure maximum directness. The moves are perfectly timed in the pacing of the routine and all the work is done right under the spectators' noses; even still, they won't see a thing! This is something that has been tried and tested over hundreds of performances in Lewis' old residency in Cyprus, so everything is completely fluid and all the fat has been cut away to deliver the ultra-streamlined routine to you! Oh, and no extra props are used either, just what you see in the videos. You'll be able to do this anywhere, with any cards, business cards, index/blank cards, or whatever. I hope that covers everything!

Is it me or is this startlingly reminiscent of Dan Harlans All Seeing Eye.

I would say, method-wise, it is a bit cleaner (more direct) than All Seeing Eye. A better description would be that it takes a "shorter path". Both are great. All Seeing Eye is more of a routine that is cleverly choreographed. Charmed is more about the sw**ches and some applications. The lead routine in Charmed is great and has a very beautiful moment built-into it.

Hello everyone, thank you for your interest and also for posting.
Charmed is a favourite of mine. The Charmed routine is what I wanted to share, and of course for that, you need the method. It is the method its self which has been cut from the performance, as it was shot from an exposed angle. I think some people confuse full performance with continuous shot. You are seeing a full performance, what you are not seeing is the exposed view of the method (one second of footage). However, if you watch the 2nd video, the trailer, you will see exactly what has been cut from the 1st. 30 seconds in, you get to watch a close up of the very thing that attention shouldn't be brought to, one of the two utility moves taught. Charmed is a mentalism routine, however, the move used can be applied to other effects and routines, two of which I have provided. The move is not only a way of gaining information, it is a sw**ch, which allows the Charmed routine to come together nicely. If it is the routine that you are interested in, then in the download I explain a lot more about it, along with some subtleties used. If it is the moves you are interested in, then you can see it the trailer, and of course most of the download is an in depth tutorial. There is a seated version of the move, and a standing version. If you already have sw***hes that you like and use, then fine, that's great too! Charmed is here for those who want it. As long as we keep moving forward in our art, that is what matters. I am well aware that there are many, many sw***hes out there, so what is another one on the pile? Well, before this, I didn't bother with billet sw***hes at all. I just didn't like them. Now that I have found this, this is the one that I use. This move has taken an unused (for me personally) area of mentalism, and brought it into my repertoire, and I'd like to think that maybe it can do that for other people too. There are many moves or methods in magic and mentalism that we don't use or do until we find the ones that resonate with us. There can never be enough avenues to explore, because who knows what could be waiting just around the corner for us. What can be awoken in us that has been, until now, sleeping. Regarding TV, my series referred to here is Discovery Channel's The Mind Control Freaks. In each episode I can be seen using a lot of hypnosis and suggestion. The show aired, and continues to air in 224 countries and territories worldwide, however it is not shown in the US, which is why some of you won't have seen it. Thank you all for your time! I'm not a great user of forums, but I will watch this thread for any questions anyone may have for me. Peace! x |
