WATCH THE TRAILER : http://www.ellusionist.com/ping-by-tobias-dostal.html
I had the pleasure of being there to play with the gimmick when Tobias Dostal filmed this in Berlin. Insane utility that you have to own to fully comprehend it's possibilities. A dream for all workers. - G. |

Jeez, as if my wishlist wasn't big enough already..
Really though this looks fantastic. I'm a big fan of coin magic so this is right up my alley. I already have 100 ideas swarming through my head on this. Wish the trailer would have shown a little more, but looks great just the same. This just may be one of the few things that I plan on preordering. Curious to know how big the gimmick is though. Do you need to palm it or does it attach to something? Is the gimmick mechanical or electronic? Not trying to fish, just trying to get an idea of practicality and to see if I'll need to ditch anything or whatnot. Whatever info you can share would be appreciated. |

The trailer itself seems to tip something unintentionally at one point, although I don't necessarily know what I'm looking at.

I should add that from what I can tell it looks totally practical. I gotta imagine this is really well made however it works. There could be so many applications.

Personally I think it makes too much of a 'ping'. Flip a single coin from hand to hand and you'll see that it doesn't make nearly that much noise. The ping that this makes sounds more like one coin hitting another. it's a good idea, but not very realistic imo, pass

If you watch the part I mentioned earlier, you see that the coin is spinning around freely in a kind of holder. So that's why the noise is much louder, because it has no resistance or "absorption" from your fingers. But if you attach something like velvet or so on the coin, I'm pretty sure it would make the noise less. |

You can see the honest reactions in the video. Do you really think that the people who directly looked upward thought "that sound was fake"? You might also consider that any noise in your environment will change the sound to some degree. Don't forget the microphone that was used to record the sound. I'am not a coin guy but it's plain fun to watch. Very well done and ooohhh so innovative. My best wishes for this release Mr. Dostal! Kind regards, Martin |

Interesting. It seems to me that this could be used to unerringly predict the flips of a coin: heads or tails. Agreed?
Can someone in the know PM me to let me know if hands are free during the use of PING? I have some ideas but my hands need to be free. Of course, I mean besides the coin. |

I'm concerned about the sound. There's no UK currency that could possibly make that sound when flicking. Would be better if there were a selection for you to choose from.

I have seen Tobias work on this and perform it a lot over the last few years. It is very convincing and an incredible device. He works mostly close-up and in this scenario you really can freak people out with PING. I don't think the trailer does it justice. I think this is a very clever new device that can enrich your coin magic a lot and add a new level to the routines you are already performing. Take care, Axel |

There are several routines taught on the video as well. The trailer only shows the most basic use of it. Tobias has clearly put a lot of work into making this as versatile as possible.
