It just seems so implausible that someone can randomly choose a key fob each with different numbers, then make a series of free choices where the number could have changed at any given moment and then have it predicted by the performer. This is then double compounded if you get another person involved who they know and you have never met and they then tell the person the number thought of or get very close. I think with a little playing around with the number routine you'll have some amazing reactions that completely floor the person you are with. It would have been great for your client meeting I think. I would have gone for the full '3 Part Prediction' though as it really packs a punch. The only limit to it being that it takes more time so it's best suited to the informal situations where you have more time to invest in an effect in order to really impress a client and demonstrate three ways which you can influence them (images, numbers and words). Keeping the obvious one on display for an extra astonishing revelation that happens more frequently. 'Loyalty' is great for a casual setting, be it performing for friends/family or to impress a potential client. However, I do use this for professional bookings when I'm entertaining at tables. TOP TIP TIME: If you have a hard hitting effect that has a bit of procedure and are working tables you split the table into 'zones'. On a table of 12 people (which is very common) I make three 'zones' of four people. I explain that each zone is going to get their own amazing experience and I perform three separate effects for them. This is equally nice if some of the table have to fully finish their food but the majority of the table has. You group the eaters in the a 'zone' that you will come to shortly (and let them know) so that they have time to finish their food without rushing. Using this top tip, I start by placing a prediction in the centre of the table and give my keys containing 'Loyalty' to the first zone and have them make a selection and write down what is required ('Loyalty' owners secret code) as this is happening I performing a mid-length effect for zone two. When this is finished I go back to zone one and have them complete the second aspect of selection (secret code again) as a group while I go to zone 3 (the eaters who have hopefully finished) I perform another powerful effect that has a seriously strong impact, it gets a strong reaction. Going back to zone 1 who have my 'Loyalty' effect I ask what their chosen number is and then reveal the prediction in the centre of the table. As the effect has taken the longest I actually use it as 'fairness', "You had all this time to change your mind and make different decisions, yet you have selected this number...". Obviously, this 'zone' method can be used with any effect that require a bit of procedure. If you work tables I really recommend trying it out. Everyone experiences something amazing, people get to finish eating, as each effect finishes that 'zone' becomes an audience (interested audience due to what you have just performed for them) that is more invested in what you are doing and by the last effect everyone on the table has experiences something amazing and all join together in showing their appreciation. Give it a go! Cheers, Paul

You know, when peopel and poster go on that little fishing expedition in the apparent pursuit of openness. That being said, apparently fishing can be quite relaxing, so let's give it a go I'm going to try and give you more of an overview of each aspect: Drawing duplication: The participant takes the 'Loyalty' key fobs and chooses any image from any key fob. The performer is able to correctly replicate this drawing and, if the performer so wishes, this can be a prediction effect rather than a mind reading effect. Number Prediction: After writing down something on a card the performer places it writing side down on the table. The participant chooses any key fob and any number from the barcode of the selected key fob, the performer then gives the participant some choices in settling on a final number which is very fair and the person can make genuine free choices. Despite those free choices you can 100% predict what number the person finally chooses. Word Revelation: The participant is asked to choose any key fob and choose any where from any key fob and the performer is able to replicate this word in image form. This can even be performed as a prediction. There are other aspects to 'Loyalty' that combine these effect and even use these effects in ways that become completely different effects. I even share a way that enables you to do the same types of effect that I have just mentioned above with a participant's UNGIMMICKED genuine loyalty key card fobs. As has already started to happen on this thread and in private messages to me, people are creating ways to make 'Loyalty' link into other effects. This is especially good if (as some of the messages I've had have suggested) that 'Loyalty' enables an apparent free choice that builds into a bigger choice and bigger selection to the point that the end effect can be a very powerful stage presentation. I've got some other ideas that I've not yet tested using these little tags and I might write them up from my notes and share them with you all on here and we can create a solid 'think tank'. Hope this helped and that the fishing was good? Cheers, Paul

Loyalty is another of those things that I want to come on here and buzz about but hold back because I was involved in creating it - but I'm going to anyway because I think it's a really fun little piece to carry around. I often end up talking to people informally about how design has a subliminal influence, because it's kind of an intersection of my two passions, and Loyalty is the PERFECT thing to pull out at that moment for me. The three piece prediction is a really nice way to use it in this context I think, it kind of logically fits to write it all on your business card and leave that with them, and you can get the actual prop out of the way completely by the time you do the reveal. PB's writeup in the ebook nicely covers his approach of using your wording as you go along to fix their decisions and reframe them to suit the revelation.
I like the thinking behind it a lot, plus it looks lovely ;-) Phill

Good evening all. I received Loyalty last Wednesday (28/12/16) and I was immediately impressed, but not at all surprised, by the quality of the product. Diving straight in I watched the video tutorial, a first from Paul, to the best of my knowledge. The video instructions are very clear and concise, easy to follow along with props in hand. A great deal of work has gone into the production of these instructions, e.g. areas being discussed are brought up on screen and highlighted when referred too. From the video instructions alone, I could see the routines are simple, yet strong. They were inspiring me from the outset with outlines of ideas to build upon with the tags. On top of that, I love that Paul doesn't try to continue to sell the product to you, I've seen that so many times before.
Even though I got all I needed from the video instructions, I downloaded the PDF knowing what to expect. I've always been a fan of Paul's writing style and this was no different. Everything, as usual, in great detail; accompanied by the usual high standard, 'what if?' section, affectionately entitled 'Fobbed Off'. Paul always does his utmost to think of as many scenarios when the punter may not be on point no matter how clear your instruction. I know if encountered anything Paul hasn't covered I would inform him. Thankfully, he's usually covered it. So, out the pack, it's all looking great, now let's put it to work. I took Loyalty along to my restaurant gig on New Year's Eve and worked the ass off it. It went down a storm. I have a unique way of covertly introducing props into the act which I'll gladly share with anyone if we meet at a convention, over a pint of course ha ha. Anyway, I digress, once these little beauties were in play the audience didn't suspect a thing. A lot of the time the audience 'normalised' the items themselves which, I believe, leaves them with nowhere to go as far as 'propiness' and method goes. Yes, I'm making up words, sorry. I used the tags in various orders and combinations. The audience often asked me to 'do something with me' with the tags. I knew from the outset I'd be combining Loyalty with Paul's Juxtapose as that is a real favourite of mine. Incidentally quiz me about my handling of Juxtapose if we meet at a convention. Again, over a pint. Anyway, performed all the variations of the magic square and it's components suggested in the instructions and they all went down very well indeed. I mentioned earlier that I was inspired while watching the instructions, well one idea came to fruition between tables courtesy of Val Andrews. I combined it with a certain aspect of the magic square and added a new dimension to Mother of All Book Tests, my favourite book test in the world. The drawing routines are both winners as long as you, the performer, are doing you bit and getting your award winning performance in as Paul suggests in the instructions. Both simple, super simple in fact, leaving you to deliver a performance of the highest calibre. In fact that can be said of all the routines that can be performed with Loyalty. Over all the, an excellent quality product with great routines and soooooo much more for those with the mind to create. An easy 10 outta 10 from me. Superb stuff Paul

Nothing against Paul. But if the predictions are on the tags doesn't this stop them being so called Invisible Props and make them obviously created for a magic effect?

No because they're not predictions, just images which would be there anyway.

Wrong trick Bryce. That's not loyalty.

There seems to be some confusion going on here.
There is an effect called 'TAGZ' by Russ DeSimone and Eddie Bedrick [ http://www.murphysmagic.com/Product_Alt1.aspx?id=53275 ]. This trick (as with 'Loyalty') uses shopping loyalty tags and contains a number of very different predictions over four different styles of tags. This has been shared on the link to an image within this thread, and I think has caused a bit of confusion. I was made aware of 'TAGZ' by Eddie Bedrick himself who was worried that there may be some cross-over here. Even though this was a case of independent creation on my part I was keen to make sure that the effects were not the same and Eddie graciously agreed to a trade of our works in pursuit of openness and transparency. During the past week or so I received 'TAGZ' and can confirm that there is no cross-over other than the medium being used; loyalty tags. There is a psychological force element that is present on 'TAGZ' that is used as part of a secondary effect for 'Loyalty', however, this is used in a very different manner. Once Eddie Bedrick has had a chance to look at 'Loyalty' it would be great to hear his thoughts on here too, just to get a fully rounded picture from both sides of the coin. Just for clarity, 'Loyalty' contains three key cards, if you click the link to the product you can see exactly what it looks like - http://www.heknows.co.uk/shop/loyalty/ For an even larger photos of 'Loyalty' and even some additional photos take a look at the very kind 10/10 review - http://ningthing.com/review-loyalty-paul-brook/ Hope this has helped to clear things up? Cheers, Paul

The cards used in Tagz have obviously been created for a magic trick and that isn't disguised in any way.
The cards used in Loyalty have nothing to indicate that they are anything other than loyalty cards and the subterfuge is well disguised. |

Just finished giving it a proper read through and I am so touched and so glad that you are sharing your thoughts as someone who has tested it with real world people. Glad you noticed that the drawing duplication requires commitment. A chap emailed me to say that everything was great apart from the drawing duplication not hitting home. My advice was to, "turn it up to 11" and that completely solved things for him. Nice to see that you are using this as part of a book test. This seems to be a direction that many have been pulled in, especially as the books can be borrowed. Thanks for taking the time to share, I know it helps people.

I bought it and I love it. The 3 picture thought - then reveal with a drawing - is brilliantly conceived!
