Has anyone been watching this?
Tonight is the final Overall there has been some great magic on this series but as with every final it should have been the audience that decided the winner Can you imagine the comments if Simon cowell decided the winner of X Factor or America got talent ? It would never work I went to see this months ago and everyone in my group was non magicians however they all agreed the winner should be Jannie Allen https://youtu.be/L5kQae1ky_A The standing ovation was real , and his act in the final was superb I hope some TV company does give him his own special in the future as he is everything a modern illusionist should be by taking classic effects and giving them a modern day twist |

I agree that the audience should vote. I felt like some of the acts winning each round received a lesser reaction than other acts in their round.
I would love to see the results of the magicians vote compared to the results of the audience vote. What would that tell us? The difference between the ways magicians and audiences appreciate a magic act. |

I can tell you the audience was stunned with the result
They could not believe who was picked ! As stated The standing ovation for Jamie Allan was genuine Some of the other acts the ovation was recorded after the show ended and slotted in post production |

I'm pleased the show has aired and seems to have done a reasonable job in showcasing magic.
However as for the final, I was surprised. To see Barry & Stuart's presentation winning, left me puzzled. I would think that from a non magician viewer's point of view, a high percentage would guess at a (or the) method e.g. there were some 'look a likes', camera phones, Barry on a high speed bike etc. and a swap when Sinita looked over the bridge. I also thought it was not high in drama or presentation. I am a long standing fan of some of Barry & Stuart's material though, so will look forward to their special. Personally, I thought Xavier Mortimer's act just pipped it over Jamie's dramatic piece (and enjoyed Pete's rendition of a classic). Rob Zabrecky, rather like Hector Mancha, demonstrated that there is still some very creative and individual performers with character acts. |

Rob Zabrecky Dimishing cards was also lost with the studio audience as most could not see what was going on and the 2 Large studio monitors were not use Barry and Stewart have already had there own TV Special so still think it would have been nice to give someone else a shot ! |

Jamie should have definitely won. As much as I like Barry and Stuart, the final performance should definitely have been scripted better. Even if anyone was fooled by the switch when Stuart 'was' on the beach then they definitely would not have been fooled when he was supposed to have been in his dressing room. For the reveal to literally be a second before appearing in the buggy, I feel defeats the mystery of how it possibly could have been done - if anyone was ever wondering how he was getting from place to place so quick. Because that final appearance in the dressing room was obviously not him (which is even how it looked for lay men due to Stuart literally then appearing a second later in the buggy) this will just lead into people then thinking that the beach scene was faked etc as well. Really don't know how the others marked their performance so high compared to the others. Especially with the presentation flaws as and technically thinking and judging like magicians.
Also agree that should have been an audience vote from the outset of the series. |

Oh bless you all. The entire project was initially created to give B&S a new show. There was no "competition". The magician's didn't really "vote".

Non magician friends have been asking me how Jamie didn't win and why B&S did and to be honest a have no answer
Even in the other shows how most of the finalists got through shocked me If it had been a fair audience vote it would have been a totally different final how B&S even got through to the final ???? |

While Jamie is very humble
There is something very fishy about the whole set up When both Magicians and the Public all agree that Barry and Stewart should not have won ! So who actually voted for them ? |

Ok who thinks that AGT is won by actually getting votes? Who thinks American Idol is vote based?
Are the votes audited in any way? Come on.
