I saw this and ordered it mainly because even though I knew what was going on I liked how clean it appeared. Most of you will know for sure what is taking place and you will be right. Rick covers everything as usual in the online instructions. I will now wait on the bills themselves to show and if they are made well I will have a very simple hard hitting opening effect. I will let you know.

This looks exactly like a trick I bought from the Magic Wladimir booth at Magic Live this year. It looked like he had put it together as it didn't have any commercial or fancy packaging - just glossy printed $100 bills in a plastic wallet - not bad looking.

Off hand the effect does look fantastic but the glossy bills are a turn off. True, this effect doesn't require one to use their own notes but using real notes is what appears to be the appeal of such an effect. Does this effect really WOW spectators or is it just capturing magi attention?

In my opinion this just screams to the spectator to say ' Let me see those bills' !

I ordered this right away before I stopped to think about how the heck I would carry it around with me. The glossiness
of the bills is something that I'm sure we can all manage and if this is a follow up to whatever your favorite variation of Easy Money is the spectators will have already examined bills transformed to 100's. The effect looks great and from an audience point of view it's very memorable and easy for them to talk about in the future when they tell their friends about the awesome magician they met.

Isn't it only for stage?

Rick talks about the glossines of the bills. He said it will show if you have direct lighting on them as he did while making the video. But he said in places like a bar or just regular lighting they look fine. As far as people wanting to examine the 100 dollar bills I will treat them like real ones and of course I would put them away in a non rushed yet protective way. I'm sure maybe having one real 100 dollar bill in the mix is possible however I normally would not hand out a 100 dollar bill anyway. Heck Id even make a joke about it saying I'm sure you will understand me NOT handing these out for inspection as you may be magicians out here and make them vanish! Just a thought.

Thank You, Eric!
Can the effect be performed with a partial amount of the "notes" such as only ten of the 100's or even five of them?

EZrhythm yes it can and in fact Rick even talks about that. I'm really hoping these look good. I have a feeling they will.

I would say Rick Lax pulled a fast one on you guys. Alan Wong made a durable manipulation bill, and Rick Lax put a routine with it and is selling it as a YouTube video Promotion piece. Not a close-up trick, listen to what he says. In my opinion this is a stage manipulation effect, and a good one, I can see how it would fit in a stage manipulation money routine.

Certainly an interesting idea. Looks like it uses the same principle as some classic trick decks but using cash instead.
My problem is I'm not convinced it is ever going to look like genuine cash to anyone unless performed at some distance and I'm trying to decide if that is a deal breaker for me. I'm afraid that even at a distance the bills are going to look too stiff and rigid and it seems difficult to avoid any shine that would make them appear laminated and fake. Secondly, with so many other Easy Money variations such as Extreme Burn on the market which do use genuine money, not sure what the point of this is other than it's probably easier to do and comes ready to go out of the box. So for probably anything other than a stage or parlour show, Easy Money is still the way to go. But this may have a place in a stand up performance. Although you can still just as easily do Easy Money for that situation as well. So it seems like Flash Cash may be intended to solve a problem that doesn't exist. |

I'm not a huge fan of how this change occurs. It looks good, but I don't like how you take a "$100" from the bottom of the stack (seemingly from nowhere, after you just showed everything to be blank), place it on top and then everything changes. Theoretically it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. If you could do real magic, I would imagine changing it instantly.
I think Hurricane by KimTung Lin looks better. Similar effect but Hurricane looks much more visual and magical. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S21112 |

Flash Cash I think is a good intro for your bill manipulation act on the stage. It's not for close up routine

Ok I'm on vacation till Monday but took a chance and had this sent to my aunt and uncles house and it showed up today! Now I too use extreme burn as my money changing effect. But first off if the glossy look is a concern let me say they look one hundred percent better when they are in your hands. If you are under bright direct lighting I guess it may be glossy. But my wife was in the kitchen here and when I showed it to her she said "Honey are those real?". Now I want to say she asked this in part because she knows with Extrem Burn you use real bills. The bills that come with this look great and will pass as real bills for the performance. My main reason for ordering this is to be honest I never cared for having a few hundred dollars on me for performance reasons. I'm extremly happy with this purchase and feel good about recommending it.

Unexpectedly got a chance to see this in person today.
While I'm not quite as high on it as Eric (Gumbini) I have to admit that it did look better than I expected. Much better than in the demo. Will it pass as real money? IMO probably not to the majority of people. But having said that, the change is still very magical looking. But it's kind of a quick "throwaway" trick to me. Better be ready to move right along into something else. But Rick Lax does sell it as a quick opener to get their attention and this could most certainly do that. My only criticism after having seen it is that they should have made the blanks out of more of a gray paper stock to better match the bills. Both my friend and I found it difficult to spread the bills and keep them all perfectly aligned. But to be fair I only had a short time to play with it and this would no doubt become easier with practice. But still I also think it might look better as well as making it more surefire so wish they would have done that. Especially since a big part of the reason for this to even exist is to make something you can do easily right out of the box. Plus it would better facilitate the type of initial change I would probably do with it if I were to perform it. Still not sure there is really a need for this version, but it does look better than I expected. By that I mean it looks somewhat passable as real money but still doesn't look great IMHO. I suppose a lot of it would come down to how seriously you present your magic. |

I've now showed this four times and I have to say it has gone over very well. I was asked twice if the bills were real. I asked one of the people after I showed this effect why he wanted to know if the bills were real. I asked this to see if he thought the bills "looked" fake. He said he asked that because it looked like a lot of money to carry around. I might add he is in law enforcement so he is always thinking in safety terms. I was about seven feet away when I performed this. I'm thinking about two ideas with this but I need to wait till Monday when I get home. One idea is to have a real one hundred dollar bill to hand out and the other is to use my card drawer effect to use as a "printer" to print my bills. I would show the blanks have the box inspected put the blanks in there and pull out the top blank (which will now take away the need to put this on the bottom of the blanks) and close the drawer then make a printer sound, open the drawer and pull out the 100 dollar bills. I'll place them on top of the one blank and finish showing all the bills. Just a thought.
