In a word, no. Volume 7 of the set is new material. It also has three new indexes.

The big book contains the original mail order course.
Vols 1-6 were substantially revised and expanded from the mail order course. So the big book is effectively just a first draft of the multi-volume set. Vol 7 is entirely new stuff from Harry Lorayne and other contributors. Vol 8 is the stuff that was cut from the original course during the revisions that created Vols 1-6 -- another testament to just how much work was put into the revision process that created Vols 1-6. If you're going to invest the time in reading Tarbell, get the multi-volume set. The content is more thoughtfully developed. |

You can purchase beautifully re-done versions from 2 great sources.
Lybrary.com has it as a download or as a CD ROM http://www.lybrary.com/tarbell-course-p-34.html The Conjuring Arts Research Center offers a very nice PDF http://shop.conjuringarts.org/store/pc/T......ZtvkrK1s I highly recommend bookmarking both sites as they a full of useful content and get on both email lists. Lybrary will (every so often) send a newsletter with new material posted. CARC will send out items on sale from time to time, they also have a "free reading program" this year (as of a couple months ago) they give a free ebook away at the beginning of the month to subscribers of the email list and follow up near the end of the month with a livestream of some sort with a professional magician discussing the book. The first one was a book called "Money Magic" by Will Blyth and David Roth hosted the livestream event In the past few years (last summer excluded) they did a free summer reading program where they gave away a PDF each week over the summer months. (The Tarbell book from the link was one of them and was a considerably nice gesture on their part. And since I am on the subject of inexpensive PDF's for the magic community. One of my go-to sites is: http://www.trickshop.com/ Also sign up for his email list. When new books are released, he generally announces them to the email folks at a substantial discount for a few days to a week or so. That ought to keep you busy and, more importantly, save you money while preventing piracy. Arghhh!!!

Im reading the tarbell course and it's very good. I think it is the best magic book that I read( I read just 3 or for books). So it's not a just a book it's a complete course. I'm just go to next lesson if I can do the last lesson. Now I'm in trouble with double lift and palming cards...lol
Thanks for the reply. I think that in the end of tarbell course, I ll be a better Magician. Thanks for all you that help me. |

The Tarbell Course will give you an excellent, well rounded magic viewpoint.
It has great card magic in it, but is light on the technique, ala the Double Lift. If you want to improve your card magic, you need a book or two on just card magic technique. Card College is great, but expensive if you are just starting out. The Royal Road to Card Magic, Expert at the Card Table and Expert Card Technique, all from Dover Publishing, $8-10 each, are the best low cost options available.
