I've always been interested in legends and fictions with a some truth behind, such as Dracula, King Arthur, Sherlock Holmes, Chupa-Cabras, etc.
I've always thought Santa Claus was inspired in St. Nicholas (the "truth" behind). With more research, it's probably inspiration from several origins: https://marcschuster.wordpress.com/tag/krampus/ But the Santa Claus being Odin was new to me, and it's actually the one that makes more sense: http://infolocata.com/mirovia/irrefutabl......is-odin/ What do you think? Also, if you could name another example of legend or fiction with some truth behind, I would love to hear that (please don't say Jesus... I don't want to get in polemics). Max Hazy
