We're not doing so well with that wall between church and state. Looks like a call for more hypocrisy about the economy and state. (and the Federal Reserve? Treasury?). I dunno.

Is it relevant what we are or not in favour of?

On a serious note, the ma and pa pizzeria on the corner is an example of non-crony capitalism, I would think.

Unless you look into how they got a business license and find out different. Our if rezoning took place to allow them to build, or if a liquor license was obtained through other than official channels.
We don't really know your assertion is true, which is probably why you followed it with" I would think".

See being from Chicago this stuff is just business as usual. Having worked in and for a city even MORE corrupt nothing shocks me. Once asked about nepotism our mayor unapologetically responded "if I could give a job to a stranger, or my nephew, who do you think is going to get it?"
I can not substantiate this story but it was a local joke/urban legend for a long time. In Chicago if you wanted a license for a business, liquor license or what not there was an office. At first if you wanted it expedited it was a $10 bribe to the clerk. (Back when that meant something.) It grew to if you wanted the guy to get up and process anything at all you had to pay the $10. Urban legend holds that as the city became more computerized in the 80's this fee was added in and even the city didn't know why! Point is not to argue that it is true but rather to show how conditioned you can become to such things.

The ones who make money, provide employment...adopt little orphan Annie, who pay good money for their politicians certainly do want what's good for their portfolios. But since you're so nice...have a dime. Fresh from the mint. Nice and shiny.
