I'm looking for some direction on FALSE CUTS AND FALSE SHUFFLES for stacked deck work.

As far as books go, I think the usual suspects are the best bet. That is to say, Card College, Royal Road to Card Magic, Expert Card Technique, Expert at the Card Table...

With regards to video, two things that spring to mind are the The False Shuffles and Cuts Project from Big Blind Media, and Lennart Green's work, as found in the Green Collection.

THINGS I REGULARLY USE. I AM ONLY LISTING FULL DECK RETENTIONS (listing top/bottom stock shuffles and cuts would take forever):

In the Hands Riffle:

Truffle Shuffle 2.0 (youtube)
Guy Hollingworth False Riffle w/ Swivel Cut (drawing room deceptions, but it is modified from that description. I saw it first on an Oz Pearlman trick somewhere).

In the Hands Overhand:

GW Hunter Shuffle
Fish Shuffle
Lift Shuffle
False Mash Shuffle
Bob King Shuffle
Optical Shuffle

On the Table Riffle:

Zarrow/Double Zarrow Sequences (I strongly believe Gary Plants does the Zarrow in the most deceptive way if you want a good starting point)
Push Through w/ Cut
Aronson Stripout 1.0/2.0 or Push Through Variants
Push Through or Stripout w/ Block Transfer into Zarrow into Fair Cut
Double Cover Zarrow (Only in Some Cases)
False Rosetta
Triple Color Group Shuffle

In the Hands False Cut:

Over-Under Cut
Pass Cut
False Triple Cut w/ Swivel
My Original False Triple Cut (I can discuss this in PMs)
Double Undercut
Marlo Triple Cut

On the Table False Cut:

Tap Cut (kinda on the table)
Vernon Triple Cut
False Running Cut
Up the Ladder
Up the Ladder/Single Card Stripoff Combo
Ose False Triple Cut
Affas-Gaffas False Cut
Various Slip Cuts

Don't forget the perfect in/out faro when you start to get more advanced Smile

There are also a few other Marlo false table shuffles that I do not know the names of, but I rarely use them anyway. I'm also sure there are several things I am forgetting. I have to leave now or I would provide sources, but I wanted to get something out there to you so you could start researching. If you need any help or sources, post here or PM me and I will tell you where you can find any of these things.

There are some great tabled blind cuts in Expert Card Technique and Expert at the Card Table. Combine one or two of those with your favorite false table shuffle (Zarrow, strip out, Push through, etc) and you have a convincing little sequence. For example, do a zarrow or two followed by an Up the Ladder sequence.

In the hands, you can do some false overhand shuffles (good stuff in Royal Road), or something like the Truffle Shuffle if you prefer false riffles. Combine that with some swing cuts and you have a great little sequence.

In either case (on the table or in the hands), alternating blind shuffles and blind cuts should allay any suspicion and convince your spectators that the cards are mixed.

I feel just a good false overhand, riffle and false cut are sufficient. I like:

Dan Fishman's Full Deck False Overhand Shuffle (taught in Patrick Redford's Applesauce or Square) Performance:
Truffle Shuffle (i learnt here:
any simple false cut

Lennart Green - Green Magic Vol. 4. Worth the price of the disc just to learn 'The Real Green Shuffle'.
