Angelo is certainly one of if not the most straight up honest people I have ever met in magic ( I have been in it over 40 years ) . His creativity is pure genius and his helpfulness is second to none and I am certain everyone who has ever met him would say exactly the same . Anyone having trouble watching the learning video on Murphy's Magic? I have tried the 2nd video all day and it limps along buffering and quits after 6 minutes. I have a very high speed internet connection.

This has been a problem for well over a year now , several of Murphy's customers inc Saturn and Mom have complained to Titans Murphys spokesman but most posts have been removed or ignored but yes this has been long going problem

Never had a problem once with watching it on iPhone or iPad . The first time I watched it I forwarded it to my notes and from there I watch every time straight through no buffering at all ever . Regards Tarik 😊

Just the appearance (and price), everything else including size and functionality is the same with both boxes.

I usually download such videos initially, then I've got always immediate access. If you're concerned about size/hd drive-/smartphone-space, you could convert it with handbrake (freeware, available on Win and Mac) to a better "digestable" size to your liking ;-)

I had a presentational question that Angelo didn't seem to cover in the instructions and I was wondering if Angelo or anyone else could offer any thoughts or suggestions in regards to how to handle this.

So when you perform the routine the way that Titanas does it, you ask the spectator to deal the cards face up into a pile and to stop whenever they like. They will either stop on one of your force cards in the face up pile OR they don't and you simply use the next face down card. Both of these scenarios seem super fair and are equally effective in my opinion.

However, when it comes to Angelo's alternate presentation he asks the spectator to name a number between 1 and 52 and to deal the cards face up and to stop at their number. I feel that if you perform it this way then the number they stopped on SHOULD ideally be the prediction card. It would be a bit strange if for example the number they named was 8 and you had them deal down 8 cards and then you used the 9th card as your prediction card, don't you think? There's a much higher chance the spectator will question this procedure. This is the part that wasn't really covered. The only way I see around this is to have them name a number between 1 and 52 and if they name an odd number like 9 for example you say, "Great, deal down 9 cards" and you're good to go since every odd card should be one of your force cards. But if they name an even number like 8, you say, "Great, go ahead and ELIMINATE 8 cards." and then you turn over the 9th card to use as your prediction card. The only issue I see with this handling is if you were to use Angelo's written instructions verbatim they would instruct the spectator to:

1.) HOLD DECK FACE DOWN.
2.) NAME A NUMBER BETWEEN 1 AND 52.
3.) DEAL THE CARDS FACE UP AND STOP AT YOUR NUMBER.
4.) YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED AT ANY NUMBER...
5.) YOU COULD HAVE CHOSEN ANY CARD...
6.) AND YET YOU FREELY CHOSE THE [INSERT CARD HERE].

Now I realize we don't have to use Angelo's exact presentation and we can customize it however we like, but for the sake of argument let's say we want to present it in an identical manner. So let's say the spectator does name an even number like 8. As I mentioned above, you would need to ask them to "eliminate 8 cards" and turn over he 9th card. But the written instructions you offer them don't quite imply this. My concern is that there's a higher likelihood that they could pick up on the discrepancy when using the "stop at your number" presentation. In other words, they may argue that you didn't actually stop ON their number, but you stopped AFTER it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about this.

Phatmeat, on Angelo's Facebook group page there is a post listing formulae that allow you to determine exactly what the card will be before they are dealt. Angelo posted it but he credits Marc Kerstein with the concept.

Jim, I don't think this addresses the question posed by Phatmeat. I've had similar feelings to his and was curious what other people's thoughts were too.
The formula Angelo posted had more to do with enabling you to handle the box prior to any cards even being dealt IIRC.

Another reason I usually prefer having them deal until they want to stop is that way they almost always stop dealing fairly quickly, which moves the effect along and decreases the likelihood of discovering any discrepancies. Using the other method I've had people say high numbers and then give you a look when they are halfway through the dealing.
BTW, I am aware that if they name a high number there are ways to get them to lower it but I really prefer not having to do that.

You could change the text to read..

2.) HOLD THE DECK FACE DOWN.
3.) DEAL THE CARDS FACE UP AND STOP WHENEVER YOU LIKE.
4.) YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED AT ANY TIME...

Asking them to stop whenever they like does not infer what has to be done when stopped. So can go either way.

Angelo, permit I disagree with you... what infer is how you deal with your spectator and how you perform

Those who have more performance mileage easly recognize this as their lack of experience... if you are challenging people, we all did it in the beginning without realizing it, get that type of results... spectators wanting to dictate the results. If you have experience you already know/have other paths to get where you want.

We all need to learn more about engaging/entertain people and balancing it with the moves we all need to do... it's not a coincidence that when you begin to perform everyone knows how we did it the trick. It's though but it's reality and when you overcome this real magic happens!

Performers who connect with their audience guide and command them not the other way around... there's always those who don't follow and that's all good!
