What force do you guys feel is best ( easiest or most convincing ) with a JUMBO DECK?

I think the classic force would be the most deceptive one.
I don't think a riffle force would work. |

The classic force may be a little hard too if you're not used to handling a jumbo deck on a regular basis.
On the other hand, if you are someone who handles a jumbo deck on a regular basis I imagine most popular forces would work wouldn't they? If one could handle jumbo cards skillfully, one should be able to do lot's of interesting things with them. I'm assuming, by the nature of your question, you are not 'used' to jumbo cards and are looking for something easy on the hands. for this reason I don't think the classic force is going to work. It's a law unto itself. Even with normal sized cards. Granted the classic force lends itself to the grip used when handling jumbo cards, I just don't think it's a suitable starting point. If I was in the market to force a jumbo card I too would be looking for an easy option! For no other reason than...They are big and hard to manipulate. Depending on the kind of effect you're performing, I think I'd go for 'Slip cut' style thing. This seems to have been the first force alot of magicians learnt and for that very reason it may be worth your consideration. This suggestion, I know, will seem ridiculous to some but I urge you to consider it. Take a look at the way Doc Eason or Andrew Wimhurst perform this move and you will see how a 'modified' grip could lend itself to Jumbo's Dean |

I understood this post to have arisen from a problem in card handling that is evident with larger, over normal sized cards. Thusly, I took it upon myself to suggest that a modified handling of a more popular force could be considered. A modified grip that would not alter the effect of the force could make the force easier to execute with Jumbo's The 'Gaffed deck' idea may not be the ideal choice with regards to the effect in question. I may be wrong but we need to clear it up.Magicman1957 will have to step in I feel. |

I use the crosscut force almost exclusively when using a jumbo deck. With a little practice, you can do a Hindu Shuffle force.
And of course, mental forces work with any size cards.

I'd do the cross cut, simple elegant and gets the job done. Pop Eye Popper deck is also a good choice. If it is a small, manageable number of cards rather than an entire deck, I'd use the down/under force.

Use forcing deck, half the cards are the same and other half different cards. The laymen don´t see the methods, they see only the effect.

Any "counting force", I think would be the easiest as far as handling such as the 10-20 force, Ed, (Eddini).

You could use the force/no force deck.

I like to use the Hofsinzer Force with Jumbo Cards. It makes more sense to use half the deck for squaring with the Jumbo Cards than with an ordinary deck.
The bottom card is forced without risk, and the deck is completely ordinary and can be shuffled by the spectator before his choice (You simply show the audience that the deck is all different cards after the shuffle, and in the process locate the force card and cut it to the bottom). |

I would definately just do the Cross Cut force. You could also do that one where you cut off packets until they say stop (but you estimate where they will say stop and cut to the break on the S sound). I forget the name though. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If it doesn't matter using a gaffed deck I love the "Ruff & Smooth" prepared decks.

It depends on what you are doing. Back when I did Jumbo Sidekick, I had a deck that had 10 duplicates of the force card in it. I basically used what would look like a classic force, but it limited their choice to one of those 10 cards. I didn't have time in the show to futz around with cris-crossing or doing any other kind of time-consuming nonsense.
When I started doing my jumbo card rise, I hit upon another solution. I used a variation on Willard the Wizard's force, which is written up in Bev Bergeron's book about Willard.

Agree with Ingo -- saw one used by a full time pro recently and the jumbo forcing deck was very convincing to a lay audience.
