Looking forward to the release of Chris' new book at Blackpool. 40 tricks and 3 essays. Bound to be tonnes of workable, impactful material given Chris' track record.

Anyone have more detail about content?

From Magicseen:

Publication Date: Thursday 16th February 2017 at the Blackpool Convention

The name Chris Congreave is synonymous with commercial close up routines and ideas. As a full time close up pro for over a decade, he has learned how to hone his magic in order to make it totally practical for performance to lay people in the real world, and this new book brings together a collection of 40 of his best ideas as well as providing you with three essays that offer sage advice.

Although a few of his routines do require some elements of sleight of hand, much of his material is extremely straightforward or even virtually self working. In fact, the variety and breadth of the material makes it ideal both for those just starting out and also for those with more technical ability and knowledge.

When a full time pro elects to share his worker routines with the wider magical public, it pays to sit up and take notice. This excellent collection of close up, which is a combination of some previously published and released material as well as items that are being revealed for the first time, should be in the hands of every discerning performer who aspires to present commercial close up magic.

The contents are: 4 Ace Production, The Laughing Count, LOL Count, Pocket Interchange, Marked Deck, Tin Opener, Signed Card To Tin, Shell Move, Fire Coins, Hopping Halves Plus, Coins Across, Joke Box, Joker Surprise, Packet Wallet, Chop Cup, Childsplay, Childsplay My Way, Childsplay With A Regular Deck, Childsplay Redux, Kolossal Kids, Surprise Sandwich, Flukes, Commercial Comedy Poker Deal, Free Phone, Happy Birthday, Card To Matchbox, Blackjack Or Cheating, Pick Me, You've Got To Be Joking, Signed Card Routine, Diminished Most Likely, Signature Trick, DICEption, Some Thoughts On Professional Close Up, One Voice, The Joker Has It, 3 Fly, Bill Switch To Purse, Cards To Pocket, Copper Silver Brass, Knife Routine, No Palm Card To Pocket, Pick Pocket

Familiar with a lot of Chris's material & have seen him lecture twice.

For me the book is a must have.

I saw a few new effects a few weeks ago(including his new release) at a lecture & it's all good.

I would go as far as to say that one of the items in this is worth the cost of the book.

NOT GOING TO SAY WHAT THE EFFECT IS, as it's up to people to read through it & try the material out.

Really wish he had left this out of the book as it's THAT GOOD & everyone will be doing it. The reactions I have got from this over the last few weeks are fantastic.

There is a hook & 2 amazing punches in this routine & I just clicked what was going to happen in phase one before he did it but was not expecting the ending which took me by suprise even though I had seen a similar ending before. The routining for this is perfect.

This is a treasure trove of hard hitting mix & mingle magic that delivers the goods.

Thank you Chris.

I forgot to add (but feel I must as there will be someone who asks "HAVE YOU READ THE BOOK")

I have not got the book or read it but I am very familiar with most of the effects in the book.

Alot of Chris's material under one cover is a dream come true for me & anyone else who buys it & wants to do hard hitting stuff.

Chris really does know what works for a "real" audience who you approach cold.

They will remember you if you take the time to learn & perform these routines.

Does anyone know whether it's soft or hard bound, the page count, or the size of the " CONGREAVE'S CURIOSITIES" book. I'd like to know before I order it. I can't find any site that gives information about the book itself. This is the information that helps me make up my decision as to buy the book or wait for the ebook.
