Yes, thanks for the detailed review Madison. I was on the fence about this (about to jump!) and your review persuaded me to invest. I've always thought anagrams are too obvious to an intelligent spectator and so too much of a performance compromise, as well as potentially dull if not handled right. From what I've read and heard about this book by Matt Mello, it may well change my mind.
I've just bought it from Pablo Amira's site and am waiting for it to be sent to me. Pablo does these himself, i.e. not automatically, so it may take a little while to be emailed to me, sadly. Looking forward to having a read. All the best, Francis

Thanks for the detailed review Madison!! Really appreciated!
Towards the end of the review, you said that Atlas's approach was more mind reading. So is P.A.T.H.S approach not MIMD reading? Thanks |

Sorry for that confusion! I'm glad you guys are enjoying the video! |

Thank you all for the overwhelmingly positive comments!
I really appreciate you taking the time to make that video, Madison. It was very unexpected. I look forward to watching more of your video reviews in the future. P.A.T.H.S. is now available on Penguin Magic: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/8039 |

What about language restrictions? Is it adaptable to other languages? Nintendo character wouldn't be a problem, but how about star signs e.g.?

Don't be sad , I don't take much to send orders normally. Thanks Pablo. Yes, I've purchased from you in the past and you've always sent the pdf very promptly. The second one I bought from you today was sent within half an hour! I've been watching some Atlas Brookings material on Anagrams (Penguin) and have been working out some myself based on my own academic discipline (Philosophy) and the types of people I perform for - students I teach, academic types etc. - and I've had some success (e.g. using 17 names and only necessitating at most three 'nos' which can be be gotten round in other ways, meaning an actual maximum of 2 nos for 17 possible names, so I'm very peased.) It's great fun coming up with them actually! Thanks a lot to Matt for releasing this book. I'm about to dip in now. All the best, Francis

Hey Simon,
As Madison pointed out, the anagrams in P.A.T.H.S. are designed for the English language, but all of the various concepts and ploys that I've developed can be adapted to any language. If you're someone who regularly uses anagrams in your own language, you will be able to utilize and apply all of my presentational and design ideas. There are MANY new concepts that are covered within this manuscript, as that was always the main focus of this project. Matt |

I purchased this today and have read thru it.
I like this new approach to anagrams.Paths is a good name for this.As it leads you into a new way of thinking on anagrams. It looks like a lot of information to take in.But when I was learning some of my first anagrams I thought I would never learn it. But it didn't take long at all to accomplish. I like your way of thinking Matt. And I am sure others will too. Todd |

Thanks, that helps! One last question: I use Atlas' superhero anagram all the time and it kills. Love it. Is it possible to adapt the method of P.A.T.H.S. to it? Or would I have to rebuild the anagram from the beginning?

To the people who have this and also have Atlas Brookings penguin lecture or his prodigal, which approach do you prefer? Which one do you think is more powerful for the spectator?

Thanks for your review, Bowers! I'm happy that you like my approach to anagrams. Memorization always takes some effort with this work, but something like "Triangulation 2.0 (Female)" can be remembered in a day, and it looks so incredibly close to real mindreading. I honestly feel like a real mind reader when I demonstrate it.
Simon, you could definitely use my work in conjunction with Atlas' Superhero anagram. Though, after reading P.A.T.H.S., you may actually want to try to rebuild it, incorporating some of the ideas from my "Anagram Architecture" chapter. Sleepy, I think that's a tough question to answer, and it puts people into an awkward situation. You should ask the owners of both to compare and contrast the contents. Ultimately, if you have a real interest in anagrams, you should own both, as both will create a powerful experience for the participant. I'd even be so bold as to say that you could perform an anagram using Atlas' approach, and after a couple of demonstrations, follow it up with "Triangulation 2.0" and the audience wouldn't even be aware that it was the same technique. |
