Hey everyone. I saw a friend of mine do a Coins through table with a mini table at a convention. I asked where he got the mini table and he said that he couldn't remember and he didn't know where to find them now. I'm almost positive it's a Roth routine and the table is designed to secretly hold out one coin until just slightly "nudged". The table is fantastic and it's something that I really want...so where do I find it?

Go to a craft store or toy store and look for doll house furniture. If you have basic woodworking skills you could make the gaffed table yourself.

I too saw a friend of mine do this trick. The table he was using didn't look too fancy, but it wasn't just four sticks and a piece of plywood. You can easily make it yourself.

You guys don't know how NOT handy I am This effect is worth it though. Thanks Larry! I didn't even think of that and I'm in craft stores all of the time creating things for magic! Great idea.

I thought the Roth book was clear about what the props are made from and how to assemble them.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

Book should be here tomorrow Jon! I have his videos but not the book. I've been like Ralphie from A Christmas Story waiting for his decoder pin! I'm at the mailbox every 20 minutes.

Go to a wood working shop and they could make it fairly cheaply for you.

Yeah, they can set aside all the work they do to pay the bills and gear up to make a miniature table whose joints don't fit any of their machines. If you ask nicely, maybe they will make you a set of Chippendale chairs to go with it.

A good internet search should find you a small toy table. In one of his old tapes he shows the construction of the table and gaff.

Larry gave you the best hint - go to a hobby shop and check out the doll house furniture - they will definitely have something you can convert/adapt, and then finish to your requirements...

Twicedance,
The version of the table you are looking for is not in the book. The one in the book requires a gaffed coin as well as the table. The one you are referring to only requires a gaffed table. I seem to remember there were tables made for this effect sold at Hollywood Magic many years ago. The gaff is simple enough to make if you get a dollhouse table from "Michaels" arts and crafts store. Even look at your local hobby shop. The link Joseph posted has a beautiful table for it, but there are only two left so you should get it soon if you like the appearance of it. Take Care, Jamie |

The first one I made was out of a card box and stacked pennys for the legs. Then I went the route of minature furniture mentioned above.
In the United States (at least in the Kansas City Area) Hobby Lobby and Michaels are to craft stores that have a lot of gold as far as props. Of course one of my other favorites is the Hardware Stores. Although I am a klutz with tools I like playing around with their "toys". Thanks for the reminder about Ebay. Harris

Jamie and Harris.....that's right, I forgot Michael's. Go there for sure first if you are in a hurry, and to Ebay if you want to save some $$$$.....

I found that by making my own from a table I found lying in my attic was the best way. I could design it to my needs. Give it a try

I FINALLY got the book today! I had no idea that the construction was so easy! I thought it was something to do with the wood joints on the bottom and a hanging ledge...god how dumb!

I wonder if this would be worth putting together for jumbo coins. Sort of a stage version? Table by Fisher-Price?
