How does this compare to Phantoms of the Card Table by David Britland & Gazzo?

It doens't really compare to Phantoms of the Card Table. It is an annotated PDF and a reprint of the original EATC plus 8 hours of video lessons. Phantoms was about Walter Scott.

Fellow Illusionists:

Having personally been involved in 2 segments of entertainment marketing over the last 28 years,
I must say that this is a brilliant piece of marketing! It utilizes the pseudo shock aspect, combined
with a persona of a WWF bad guy boaster!

I would venture to say that the ellusionist folks were behind the initial round of parodies,
having them in the can before the "Official Trailer" was released.

Simply Brilliant! When you can get your potential customers AND haters advertising for you,
you have achieved the ultimate in Guerilla Marketing!

Tell that to Tim Cavendish from Page 1 of this thread Smile

I didn't say it was a good product, I said it was great marketing! If this sucks, it will cost ellusionist long term customers.

Mr. Kaufman:
Sadly, you are correct. This product is being marketed to those under the age of 30. If you are over 30, you tend to be somewhat turned off. If you are over 50, like myself, the odds of buying this product is about 5%.

My fascination with this product is the marketing.

Bring back the old Ellusionist days with the whole matrix vibe and the women dancing around warehouses doing kicks towards the camera.

Yup--still doing the Pass and writing books! But nothing about Erdnase, thank you very much.

Nice little fantasy you got there. A group of geniuses that had enough foresight to anticipate exactly how everything would play out and filmed a bunch of footage ahead of time to be released as their master plan unfolded.

Yeah, sure buddy.

Daniel Madison's persona, is exactly that: a persona. What he says and how he says it is designed to elicit a response from others, pure and simple.

DMC interviewed him some time ago and the interview is very revealing in the way Mr Madison comes across, right down to how he talks compared to his trailers / videos etc.

I find it funny that many are quick to bash but can't seem to find the few minutes it takes to google him and visit his website where a lot of the explanations they seek are to be found.

He's an interesting guy, that's led an even more interesting life and is pretty *** good at what he does.
