This is Fraser's newest offering to the magic community.
http://www.fraserparker.co.uk/ploy.htm It's 20 pounds. Only 100 will be sold. It's another way to get someone's star sign. This method uses a deck of cards to do so. I think it's a nice offering to the community. Essentially someone thinks of one of the three primary colors based on their star sign. Then they think of a card from a deck and then they change their card based on their color. In the end, you know their star sign. In the brief description above, it sounds like a lot; but in performance, Fraser does a great job justifying each step so that it feels like a natural continuation. Also you can nail their card (or come very close) but Fraser chooses to miss the card completely because it makes an even greater disconnect from the star sign reveal. That said Peter Turner offers a great suggestion to appear to nail the card every time. It's a nice bit of word play. This will take a familiarity with star signs in order to perform effortlessly, but if you're going to be doing star sign reveals, you should already have a familiarity with them. All in all, it's a workable method which will do wonders in the real world. It's not my favorite method of Fraser's for a star sign reveal, but regardless, it does work and some may find this of more value than I do. Especially if they don't have some of Fraser's other works. It's definitely worth the £20 I'll try to answer any questions you may have! Madison |

Ploy is exactly what it sounds like...a fascinating ploy that is for the working and social performer.
I feel like there is more here than just a star sign divination, but haven't had the time to think more on the subject. This could also be used on mediums other than cards, but cards fit the most logical framework for the explanation given. Basically, hit or miss on the card, you're still golden on the star sign divination, which is more impressive with the miss! For those that own Ploy, a great idea is to use a chunk of the card as a "qualifier" to be able to read them and it looks great either way and obviously can escalate theatrically and revelationally(my word, dibs) from there. Hi guys.
This was brought to my attention by a few others as well. Fraser and I have chatted about this already. While the concepts are similar (and they are related), it is a different approach but along the same lines. Mine is based off the original Isabella Star and Fraser's is based off of previous concepts he already had. In other words, I go for the exact birthdate still, while Fraser goes directly for the Zodiac Sign as well as introducing a colour element. In addition, I use an "ID", whilst Fraser is using a regular deck. Just making sure that folks understand that everything is alright. No harm, no foul. |

Dear Sudo,
Probably in this case, your very generous and giving nature is taking the shape of extra tolerance? Maybe... maybe not. But personally I do not NEED 'ploy' - as I already have a deadly combo of Eclipse and Zodiak Gods - for this theme of effects. But basically I do not understand the logic of limiting pdf sales to only 100 - how is anyone going to ensure that? Unless it is just a 'ploy' to sell more and sell fast
There is no better freedom than choice and no better choice than freedom.
