Ox Bender – Menny Lindenfeld
Product description : There is a lot of products on the market which allow to achieve pretty much the same thing : bend coin. The prices can go from $30 to more than $300 so there is something for everyone. Ox Bender is a new product on the market, which is, in my opinion, a breakthrough since you can bend a coin with only ONE hand. But is it any good ? is it worth the price ? Let’s find out ! Price and where to buy it : This is sold at $99.95 and you can find it in nearly every Murphy's magic « partner » shop ! What you get : You get a small cardboard box, very nicely made, it looks like a professional product and the packaging is really nice. Inside, you will find a little piece of paper, mentioning the fact you shouldn’t bend coin made out of 2 metal (like the 1 euro coin). You also get a link to an online video, which covers pretty much everything you need to know about this gimmick (coin bend with 1 hand, 2 hands, spoon twist, key twist and key break). You also receive your gimmick which is brilliantly made, out of very sturdy plastic, if you take care of it and use it properly, it should last a lifetime. It’s small enough to be hidden in your hand, it’s very easy to use. Overall, for the price asked, you can’t go wrong with it ! It’s amazing and very well made. Teaser : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNFvww4n8qM The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end. THE CONS : – It may be a little bit expensive but when you see the final product, and how much time it took to develop it, I don’t this is overpriced. – You have something hidden in your hand, it’s not like other tools (Coinvexed, Quantum Bender) which are hidden in plain sight. THE PROS : – It’s very well made and should last a lifetime. You have to follow Menny’s instructions, especially for the small coins because you have to be a little bit more careful when you load them into the gimmick. – You can bend coin with 1 hand ! I’m in France so from my experience, you can bend the 2 and 5 cents very easily with one hand. Any other coin would need the 2 hands bend. – Whether you use the 1 or 2 handed bend, it’s so well incorporated in the routine, it flies by the spectator, it’s amazing. – It’s quite versatile, you can use coins but also fork, spoon or keys ! So you’re not limited by the gimmick but by your imagination. – The gimmick is made in such a way that you can load the coin without even looking at it ! This is a nice feature, which allows your routine to be very streamline and very clean. – I found no marks on my coins, I know other gimmick leave marks when you use them. So there is no backtrack for the spectator. – It’s very light, compared to Coinvexed or Quantum Bender, this is at least 10 times lighter than those 2 products. So it’s very easy to carry around ! Overall rating : This has become my favourite bender, I use it everytime I can, I’ve never been caught, this is one of the best surprise of 2017 so far, 4/4 hearts. As for the difficulty level, bending coin is not the easiest thing on earth but with a little practice, you will be able to do it very quickly, I would say 3/5 stars. Similar products : Quantum Bender, Coinvexed, Benz, Cobra Bender, Superman etc.. There are a lot of options on the market, I do think the Ox Bender is one of the best of its kind. Nice review and very consistent with my experience. I've had no problems bending quarters (except once...not sure what that thing was made of), which is what I generally go for with coin bending. I am not an extremely muscular person, so if I can do it, I'm pretty certain anyone else can.

I am having tons of fun with The Ox Bender! Reactions are very very good! No one has ever noticed or suspected anything in my hands. In the beginning they do not know what is about to happen and at the end of the routine they are so shocked that you have plenty of time to get clean.
This was well worth $99.00 for me and I am glad I did not pay $200-$300 for other benders out there when The Ox has not failed me and never has raised any curiosity from the spectators. RNK

I agree with the reviewer that this is right up there with the Quantum Bender (which is very heavy) and Coinvexed (which has become my go-to bender up to now, although, truthfully, I sometimes just go with a bent coin and a thumbtip - not as elegant, but it gets a good reaction, nonetheless ). I've only used the Ox Bender for the past 2 weeks but I find it comfortable to conceal. I know people have different experiences as to how difficult they find it to bend an American quarter. I do not see myself as a strongman, but I have had no problems at all bending with this item. Your mileage may vary.

I also enjoy my Ox Bender. Signed coin bend gets good reaction. Initially, I had to build up hand strength. For me, now easy to bend my go to coin: quarter. Easy to conceal and ditch. Durable, well thought out and good routine. Well worth considering..

I agree that this review is unusually helpful and addresses almost all the questions I had about Ox Bender. I still have one left: Does Ox Bender work with American pennies? I bought Benz and discovered that it is great for quarters but doesn't work for pennies -- the diameter of the pennies is too small and they keep sliding out of the bending device.

Be careful using a penny or coins smaller than a penny as you could possibly chip the gimmick if the coin is not placed properly!

I received the Ox Bender this week.
The device is truly impressive, well built and the video is very thorough. As I am from Romania I tested it on romanian coins. I managed a proper bend two handed but with considerable struggle. I then tried it with an american quarter and even one handed, with a bit of struggle, managed a proper bend. Now this is a problem for me. I have 3 american quarters left and no justification to use them in a performance. Sure, I can make it work but I would much rather prefer using the local coins. I ordered a hand strengthener and will start developing some proper muscle in the hands. Hopefully I will be able to do a proper bend with the romanian coins, even if just two handed. Do you guys have any recommendations, other than the hand stregthener? Thanks! -Matt

I pre-bend coins and ring them in as needed. I only use bent coins for a couple effects and none need to be done to a "signed coin" or "on the spot" bends. The routines I use them for give the impression the coins bent in their hands.

I'd recommend that you make sure the coin you're bending is positioned properly to allow for maximum leverage. It's been a few years since I watched the tutorial. I do remember the tutorial going over ways of positioning the coin.
