What are the best impromptu tricks for someone sitting next to you on a bus, plane, bar, etc.? A situation where it would be difficult to face them directly.

The old safety pin "stuff" --Piff Paff Poof, pin penetration of handkerchief, etc.

Various knot tricks with rope, "Slydini Knots with two handkerchiefs. Charlie Miller's "Left Handed Knot",
The Dissolving Knot, (Tarbell) if used with Left Handed, this would be the Right Handed. (SEE MY BOOK FOR
THE CORRECT WAY TO DO THE DISSOLVING KNOT) Al Baker's knotted silk thru wrist (Tarbell)some ring 'n' ribbon
or shoelace bits, Dante's "Lazy Magician", using a chop stick, two shoelaces, and some old Chinese coins,
with holes. A TT could be useful, depending upon on which side the spectator is sitting.

Some coin stuff, involving coin(s) and a handkerchief, could be possible.

Many C/S transposition effects in the spectator's hand do not care where the spectator is.

Regular coins in your wallet.

Or, you could carry Hopping halves in a little coin pouch.
