One of our greatest 'tipps',
as Street Performers,
are the ones
dropped in our ears.
,....the stories folks share with us.

Half true.
Half fabricated.
Half herded (heard), from around three corners.

We were out, this past week,
pressing our luck,
in the little health/spa towne of Bad Nennenderf.
These little townes aren't overly full,
but,
our only 'competetion' are the daily "Kur Konzerts".
,...usually in the afternoons at about 3 o'clock.
Before,..and after,...
they belong to us(!). 😊

We had just finished a small Show,
when a Korean lady approached me,
and introduced herself,
as a violinist, from the 'Kur Orchestra'.
I started excusing myself,
for my poor playing,...
when she smilingly started telling me
the story of Niccolo Paganini's Violin "iL Cannone".

!....."hmm,..what did that have to do with I?"

His first violin,..
"instrument of choice",
an Amati violin,
he LOST in a BET(!),
.....with a street performing "cups and balls magician?/con-man"!

The story she told me,
is:
he was sö sure, he knew where
"the little red ball was",
that he bet his prized violin,
"la Grand Amati".
(Antonio Stradivari apprentised under Nicolo Amati.)
,...and lost.
,..on a street corner, in Florence.

In the peak of his career.

,,...violin-less!

A violin student,..admirer, then gave him
their violin,...
as a 'loan'.
,...not to be bet with(!).
This was a Guarnerius violin.
At the time, considered,..."kinda cheapy".

Paganini christened it, 'iL Cannone',
....played it loud and strong and proud. 👍
He even took it to the streets
and played corners in northern Italy.

, . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . ... . . . . . . .. .. . . . . . . . .. . . .. .

hmm, this was quite a story
i was being fed,
by this sweet little Korean fiddle player,...
sö I googled,...
I ended up talking with a lady,
in the city hall,
of Genoa, Italy.
"iL Cannone" is kept there,
on permanent display.
She verified the story,...word for word.

The Streets,..

"...it put a smile on my sick face."
Kyoki, I have to admitt, reading this,
I cracked up(!).
,...then I thought,
"ooops! The poor guy is probably sick!"

Hey, hope it's nothing too serious,..
"Deisel allergy",..
or,
Motion-sickness... 😷
,...wish you well.

Nala, reading about Paganini,
I saw that he battled 'the Carpel',
as well(!).
I hope yours is coming along better.
We want to hear you play 'violin' again,...
soon. 🙃

Side note: After reading about Paganini's "iL Cannone",
I've named my pian-ini:
"tHE Mouse-trap".
,..makes me smile,
the thought.
Smiles,....help.
