Dr. Pritchard in 1864 purchased some antimony as his wife was standing in his way - he wanted to marry one of his servant-girls. He had a problem as this servant was pregnant. His wife suddenly became very ill and his mother-in-law came to look after her. Quite suddenly his mother-in-law died in his house, and her daughter, his wife, a few weeks later. They were both found to have been poisoned with antimony. Pritchard was hanged in 1865, the last man to be executed in public in Scotland. A crowd of 100,000 watched the execution. This is my most elaborate box yet! Two levels of selection and 2 reveals! Choose a vial of poison which now has a parchment inside. Remove the 1st drawer and choose a token. Place the note on top of the box and then place the token on that. Now open the bottom drawer and a note appears! On the note is the name of the poison and the reveal of your choice! A double reveal! I would like to thank Vlad for some of the inspiration that went into this effect! I hope I do not need to sacrifice to much plasma... I will be working on this to be finished this weekend. Let me know who is interested in getting one so I know how many to pre-fabricate. -Vince

Looks very cool, a unique piece that will surely get their attention, it is so different it would pair well with he Poe box so you could use both (in different shows of course)

I still have to finish the tokens and place an inlay inside the drawers.
Thank you Vlad for the kind words!

DR. PRITCHARD'S BOX OF POISON Dr. Pritchard in 1864 purchased some poisons as his wife was standing in his way - he wanted to marry one of his servant-girls. He had a problem as this servant was pregnant. His wife suddenly became very ill and his mother-in-law came to look after her. Quite suddenly his mother-in-law died in his house, and her daughter, his wife, a few weeks later. They were both found to have been poisoned. Pritchard was hanged in 1865, the last man to be executed in public in Scotland. A crowd of 100,000 watched the execution. When archiving the Edinburgh Court House where Dr. Prirchard was held during the trial, some of the original evidence was uncovered from the case. Vials with traces of the poisons arsenic, cyanide and antimony were kept in a wooden box with mounted photographs of the diabolical Dr. Pritchard's victims. His wife Mary Jane Pritchard, mother-in-law Jane Taylor and possible mistress and accomplice Elizabeth McGrain. Inside the Sample Vials (now mostly safe from the poison - just don't lick them!) are now parchments with the poisons listed on them. The lower drawer of the box was empty at first... Then someone asked whilst examining the macabre antique - "I wonder who he enjoyed poisoning the most?" A strange question I know, but what happened next stunned the archivists... A parchment appeared in the lower drawer with the name of a victim and the poison that was used! http://shadowbizarre.com/the-shadow-baza......f-poison

Vic, you finished this one off beautifully. I love the mounted photo touch, and the multiple reveals. That's fresh for this classic effect. Plus, the story line is real, which is always good for this kind of presentation:

Thanks Wizard! I am only doing this in a limited run. They are time consuming for me, as you can imagine.

Just sent you a pm, hoping one still available for my purchase. Also a question if photo card of Dr Pritchard is included?

I can indeed atest that the objects are even cooler than the photos, I got the opportunity to examine them at Doomsday and they exude an aura of authenticity all you need is to present them and the deed is done

I should be receiving my set on Tuesday or Wednesday. I really like where Vince has taken this classic effect. For a bizarre neophyte like me, this is the perfect prop for me to wrap my arms around as it is so do-able, yet completely convincing. Can't wait.

I admired Vince's range of boxes at Doomsday and obtained an 'Odin's Sacrifice' from him. The whole range look great and work well, and they all allow for the full range of different reveals.
