Does anyone know where I could purchase one? Roy Kueppers used to sell them, but his website no longer seems to be functional. (What happened?) Thanks in advance.

Do you want just a C/S coin or an actual sum/moon coin (which includes a s***l, too)?
Buying any "Dime & Penny" trick will get you the former - except it will be locking, and that might not be what you want. I'm unaware of any common sets that contain a non-locking version. If you want just the C/S coin, it depends on what kind of quality you want and how much you're willing to spend. You could just use the C/S from the dime & penny. Or buy Coin on Call http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5991 which has what you want. I recall someone mentioning Roy's site as down a few weeks ago, and it came back a day or two later, so you could also wait it out and order from him then. I suspect some sort of config or content change brought it down, but it could just be an unreliable server. |

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify. I am interested in just a C/S penny/dime coin. (I'm not looking for a shell or for any locking item.)
Thanks for the "Coin on Call" reference. Yes, that's the item. Do you know if it's well-made? (Or who makes it?) |

I noted in your latest reply that you did not want a shell. To the other point, you could buy a locking D/P and stretch it with a silk or two until it dropped free. Just a thought.

Check out the thread on it here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=218 I'm not sure who the manufacturer of that one is, but here's the comment on Roy's site about it: Quote:
This is the Gaff that Jeff Prace uses and recommends. I developed a unique way to make both the Dime & the Penny the same diameter and yet keep the rim on the penny so that both coins look natural. Unlike the locking Dime & Penny set that has a C/S insert where the penny has no rim remaining. This makes this particular coin the ultimate C/S coin from two coins that are normally two different sizes. I can't speak firsthand to the quality of the gimmick that comes with the coin-on-call, but from the thread it sounds like it's not quite as good as Roy's. You could try emailing him if his site isn't back up soon. |

And his site is back up. http://roykueppers.com/coppersilver.html
Slightly related: I didn't notice it before, but this topic really should have been under "Trick Coin Trickery", and not "Nothing Up my Sleeve". We are talking about gafffed coins, after all. Perhaps a mod will feel like moving it. |

I just bought a dime and penny and it is nothing like the one I had 10 years ago. This new one is unnaturally shiny and looks fake came with a ring unlike my old one but I would rather have the old style that looked like it was made from a real penny and dime. Is this the new crap standard for these or are the old ones still made?

“Coin on Call” C/S penny-Dime Coins is available at Roy Kueppers for $15. http://www.roykueppers.com/coppersilver.html
His site says... “This is the Gaff that Jeff Prace uses and recommends. I developed a unique way to make both the Dime & the Penny the same diameter and yet keep the rim on the penny so that both coins look natural. Unlike the locking Dime & Penny set that has a C/S insert where the penny has no rim remaining. This makes this particular coin the ultimate C/S coin from two coins that are normally two different sizes.” I have one and I agree; the penny does not look like a milled down penny. If you have an expanded penny shell, you could certainly have a true Sun/Moon set! (It might even fit in an expanded penny shell. I’ll try to find one and try it and advise. Blessings! Steph

Mine is unnaturally shiny, not like a new penny and I can't even dull the finish to make it look more natural. I also just noticed that a small rim of copper looking material is visible around the dime part. This is definitely made form a real dime and penny. The package has Trickmaster on it.

I meant to say this was definitely NOT made from a real dime and penny

Following up on my last post; to see if the Kueppers C/S Penny/Dime will nest into non-expanded penny shell: It does NOT nest.
Thanks Steph
