Thank you all for the suggestions so far.
Tony, I have all the books you've mentioned except all of the Tarbell (I think I only have the book on silk magic). Darkness, I wish I had an answer to all your questions. I think right now I'm looking to explore in general. I would like to eventually do some bizarre performances as long as I can do it properly and convincingly. Godzilla, great suggestion. Over the years I have seen and been to many many different calls. Some funny, some tragic, some gory, some weird.

If you describe the type material you do or want to do, we may be able to point you towards resources that may help.
What is now called bizarre magic is a very vast and varied group of disciplines. |

"Is there another website that you recommend to help coach or guide someone beginning their journey?"
No just listen to the people here that's more than enough. The journey does not come from answers from others it comes from within, don't skip the homework of self reflection it is the exploration you seek. Turn the pages and go deep into spooky then you will not have to ask these questions the light will shine the path in the darkness Your question has been asked many time before its all documented. The obvious and logical approach is read "a couple of books" and ad copy for the effects from a few creators and see some shows "to get an idea". But you can do that in a weekend (to make a point). Then you have to ask yourself the questions I asked you (and yes they are hard but not that hard). We have all explored and yet Bizarre means different things to each of us. There is no one answer we eventually looked inside for that (the ones that skipped that part are still looking). Did it come from a book list or DVD? (not really). Bizarre for me came out of my growing dislike for presenting magic tricks like a magician. Being MR. Wonderful front and center seemed more self serving than mysterious, the road eventually lead here for me. It was a long road, I wish I answered my own questions first. However: eg. Some want to do magic trick with pictures of dead people and old boxes, to be readers and mediums for others, to tell "great" stories using effects that are subtle and may even go unnoticed, and that's all great. Some add a mentalist flavor and make it more about what they can do. If you don't have a 100 foot overview of your core values as a performer, you will never be able to narrow focus your education and it will be endless reading, experimenting, buying and selling. You can easily search for books and watch DVD's until you fall asleep. Maybe that's all you need right now and that's fine just trying to show you where the road leads. "I would like to eventually do some bizarre performances as long as I can do it properly and convincingly." See above because until you know what you want to do, it will be hard to be convincing and do it properly unless you are a brilliant actor but you may not be satisfied. To point you in a direction? There are too many to be honest and it would take a lifetime to explore them all "properly". Use your instincts and pick a path once you have read a bit and experimented with it. Exploring in general is easy, start from within "then" read ad copy and a few books. You can find resources within a few pages here and in one section below us in "Once upon a time..." My friend Nyama Possessor has the ultimate book list, second post in, that is more than anyone needs. In fact start by reading his posts and others like Christopher J. Gould (they are both profound thinkers on the art form and my inspiration) to kick start your untapped potential. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=161 Spend more time reflecting and reading spooky threads is the best advice I may offer. Good luck on your journey you will find your path. Don't listen to the haunted objects they will try to pull you every which way.

Thank You ProfessorMagicJMG for picking up on the new web address. Appreciated.
BTW: As to the OP, 3NoEvil still available. Almost 800 sets sold so far over the years and still popular. (See Directory on the site for info page.) Thanks Doug
