Apologies if there is already a thread on this but I couldn't see one.
Looks nice just wonder how invisible the gimmick is. Anyone have this care to comment. Here is the link https://www.alakazam.co.uk/product-Expan......ey-.html |

I have it... it's very good. Very visual and I love the routine as it really justifies why the hole expands.
The quality of the gimmick blew me away... it's definitely invisible. When I took it out of the package, I couldn't see anything suspicious and I was staring right at it (and I have the Red version which are typically worse). I have no idea how Rob Bromley made this so good. Highly recommend. Check out Craig Petty's review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUWou_h2YiM

I kinda like this, but there is no way, in a casual situation, I'm going to walk around with a hole-punch.
What about if you had a small bunch of hole-punched cards. "This is what casinos do to cards after they've been used, so that you can't use them again," sort of thing. DO you think that would work? |

I've never been interested in any trick that involves mysterious holes moving , stretching and vanishing on a playing card.
Hole punchers do not excite me. I cannot relate to these anomalous orifices. I have no idea why this sub-genre exists! |

I've got this, it's totally awesome and better in real life than on the vids.
gimmick is, as expected with Rob Bromley, the best quality I've ever seen in a gimmick of this kind. |

Could possibly be used to ring in the gimmick as well. As a side note there are hole punches available which are very tiny if you go that route. |

How big should the hole be? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00H7RC......T5059E9Z

I believe 1/4" is the standard size in the US so it is probably very close to that.
Don't think it needs to be an exact match, just close enough to not be noticeably different. Sleepy, that hole punch looks like the one I have (well, actually I have a few of them.) |

Does that mean red and blue are equally good?

Have to chime in and say that Expansion is absolutely incredible. Rob Bromley has outdone himself with a beautifully constructed gimmick.
If you have seen Craig Petty's review, I agree with everything he says. Dave Loosley's addition of a presentation that actually makes sense moves it beyond quick eye candy. I am going to order a second in the other color, that's how much I like it. It's something different in a card trick and very visual, and there's no way you could replicate it with SOH and have it look so clean. I'm toying with the idea of making a new deck for Chatelain's Card on Ribbon (with holes that match Expansion) and using them together. Plus, I think I like the idea of using a deck with holes in the cards as they just add more interest and you can perform most any standard effects and the holes don't hinder you. Anyway, I recently ordered Triple C and if I like that deck half as much as I like Expansion then I will be a very happy camper. Expansion is great and I would highly recommend it. Nice job all around from Alakazam, they really hit this one out of the park. |
