As I recall, an effect was released last year with a piece of paper and a pin. The spectator could stick the pin into the paper where they wanted and the holes could be predicted. There were several presentations, one involving a voodoo doll like image on the paper.

I thought I had book marked it, but cannot find it.

Does anyone know the name of the product?

I think Marc Spellman has an effect like this with the voodoo doll theme where an envelope is pierced with a needle and then where the holes appear are predicted. Something to that effect. But his is pretty old.

This is new (about a year old), a piece of paper is folded, the spectator can push the pin through the paper where she wishes and the holes match a prediction, pierce the selected spot on the picture of a voodoo doll, and several other presentations.

I've tried searching for it but cannot find it.

Wasn't the original method based on a Ted Lesley idea?

That's what I was thinking as well. Although several variations have been released over the years I do not thin or recall of seeing one within the last few years.

There is a version of this in Mind, Myth, and Magic, as well.

Liam Montier's Voodoo is an effect similar to the description that comes to mind.

Oops. I meant T.A. Waters; Mind, Myth, and Magic.

Thank you.

I thought Montier's trick was his update of the Voodoo card trick where he simple replaces the drawings on the cards with photos???

Thank you guys. I'll look at MMM again.

So no one recalls seeing this version last year. Smile

The selling point to me was that the paper/card was folded and the pin was inserted by the spectator, unlike using tissue paper and rolling it into a ball. It seemed to fit with a direction I am going in with a routine.

Tony, I stil recommend you look at Marc Spellmans routine. His conditions are almost exact to what you are talking about.

Thank you.

The Marc Spelmann effect is called The Afflicted. It looks like it is discontinued.

It is also in his Chapters DVD I believe, which is where I saw it originally.

There was also something that Liam Montier put out using voodoo doll cards I believe. I don't think that's what you were looking for, but the cards look interesting.

Thank you. I did not remember it from those, will have to look again.

It may be workable. I just don't like having to add an envelope when there is no logical reason for it other than it is needed for the method.

Tony,

Just saw your message. I think the trick you have in mind is "The White Box," available at Penguin as a download: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/7328
It's a good trick, can work close-up or in small parlor situation.

Hope this helps, even though it's late.

There's something very similar-sounding in "Castle Dracula Mentalism". I think it was called: "The Book of Demons".
