What tricks do you do with a borrowed quarter? Here are a few that I do:
1. Bent coin routine...2 quarters are bent 2. Smileys jr - a frown drawn on a coin turns into a smile 3. Marked bill through quarter 4. 3/4 of a trick...combines all three above routines 5. The mentalist - card prediction on the back of a signed coin 6. Triple signed coin to card - marked coin travels 3 times under a business card 7. Fusion - a penny is pressed into the center of a quarter All tricks from my online lectures and the NYCMS dvd series So, what do you perform?
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:

Besides the half dollar versions, I also have the following gaff sets in quarter size:
So there's a few I can do, though for borrowed coins I'd need to do a lot of switching... so I mostly stick with my quarter expanded shells, C/S coins, and split coins. Jim |

As I'm from the UK we don't have quarters what would be our equivalent, how small are quarters ?

They're 24.25 mm. So a smidge larger than a 10p. I don't personally do much, since I prefer the larger coins. But I do occasionally use my Vodka+Orange, which is a Scotch+Soda with a US Quarter and US Gold dollar. |

If my memory is working - Old UK 1/2 pence coins match USA quarters.
Somewhere I have a few c/s of that persuasion. We just moved into a new tub. I couldn't find things like silverware and razors, but I knew where my coins were located. Harris- With - Palms of aluminum foil, for a lighter touch in coin magic

Coin To Rock
I posted this to the Perverse Magic thread of the Genii Forum on February 1, 2017 Effect At a dinner table the magician says he just learned a new trick and asks to borrow a quarter. Someone gives one to him. He announces he’s going to make the quarter into a half dollar. He puts the quarter in his left hand and snaps his right hand fingers and when he opens his left hand, the quarter is gone but instead of a half dollar there is - a rock. I must have done something wrong!!! |

There is a nest of boxes routine on both the NYCMS dvd series and my first Penguin lecture where the coin can be loaded right under the nose of the spectators. Roth also has a nice coin in nest of boxes routine on the NYCMS dvd series.

Quarter effects I use aren't that many.
I do your Smileys Jr Coin Fusion Out of Mark Wilson Two Halves and Two Quarters Danny Archer's Pick a Coin... Any Coin... (Which can be done with other coins, but I prefer a quarter) |

I have many unpublished effects using borrowed quarters. Maybe I should write some up.

Nothing as elaborate as you guys mention here, but I have many times simply asked a spec for a quarter, changed it openly and fairly to a Chinese dollar coin...And then as miraculously changed it back to the quarter. This is great for when you're on the go and moving about, or when someone asks for some on-the-spot magic. It's simple but quite effective and very magical...something people will always remember.

I've found just about anything you can do with half dollars can be done with quarters -- and at this date, they can be borrowed.

A lot going on here, so with a small lull in the action, you gotta get in and get out, and leave them amazed and with a smile. 😁 It happened like it always happens when I'm here,..."Hey, show us something good, sir." 😁 I asked for a coin, got a quarter, and away we go! Just the way I explained it above.😀 You just gotta get out there and do it, one quarter or so at a time. 😉 So yeah, it really works. 😉👍🏽
