I enjoy using the Bonnet hat tear very much . I like the "rose" that appears out of the bits . I make it a do as I say by giving the first half tear to an helper . Often I do this in class rooms so I ask the teacher if I go very slow can she follow instructions ; then I ask the teacher to put hat on my head as I put thr hat on her head the kids really scream

I've done the trick for many years, and I prefer Danny Tong's bonnet style tear.
By the way, if you do it close up for adults, you are in good company. I saw Eugene Burger do it for adults at one of his restaurant performances several years ago.

Good news.I hate the cheap Wizard hat.Made in India I think.
The Fab magic hat tears are great.I have had some difficultly actually getting them from Fab Magic so it will be great if other dealers stock them.

We are backlogged on hat tears like you cannot believe! We just recently added a new employee to get back on track with these because we are now in the process of making: Elf/Robinhood hats,Celebration hats, bunny ears, bikin pants, mouse ears and a few more. Ramping this product line up has been a challenge but we are working on them as we speak......

Would love to find someplace that makes the good "Mickey Mouse Ears" tear that I used to use from Bumper...

I've recently received the Tarbell Course in .pdf format and it's amazing! I got it from http://www.lybrary.com along with a companion DVD for card college.
This is great because it means I can store it on my iPhone, so I've always got it with me, and second I can search it instantly. If you don't already own Tarbell then you should get it. And I'd highly recommend getting the digital version so you can search the endless info contained within. I digress, back to hat tears. I make my own using the tear in Tarbell (see there was logic in my initial paragraph) and its fantastic. Ok you only get one style and its a lady's bonnet, but its quite satisfying to produce something yourself. And since I perform this in every show it means that I end up saving quite a bit of cash. Although it does mean I have mountains of tissue paper lying around Also by doing it myself I don't have to rely on finding a dealer whilst on the road who carries refills. Or have to transport hats and fear them getting damaged. Of course if they do then I just make another one. I would be interested to know if there are currently any books on how to make more hat tear designs. If there isn't I wonder if Rick or Danny Tong would consider creating something along these lines. Does anyone own the rights to the Bumper designs?

I have the Ron Bauer booklet that came out a few years ago. Teaches how to make a fancy bonnet style hat and the routine is great. I loved the bumper tears and wish they were still made. I'm too lazy to make my own so I now buy the Tong hat tears. I just wish he made the bikini style underwear tear in hot pink like Bumper used to.

The legendary Bob Little in Hatboro, Pennsylvania makes excellent hat tears. They are of a very nice colorful ladies bonnet. They are attractive to the eye, reasonably priced and best of all - they are made right here in the United States. I think the best way to get them from Bob is to call him. He is located at "Bob Little Guaranteed Magic" 27 Bright Road, Hatboro, PA. Telephone Number: (215) 672-3344. You won't be sorry with your purchase. His are the only hat tears I use. They are great!

Best hat tears I've used for quite awhile by Stilwell Magic.
Brad Burt carries them and I believe you get 13 bonnet style hat tears for $15.00 (bakers dozen). Great comedy item well made by someone who's been making and manufacturing magic for years. |

By popular demand we are making all sorts of hat tears - wizard, rabbit ears, bunny ears,santa,bonnet,elf/robin hood and bonnet. Wizard, bonnet and bunny ears are the most popular sellers. We make 'em in house.

Suds is still making various Hat Tears. He can be reached at < sudsmagic@sbcglobal.net > or (951) 359-5797. He just did a lecture for us tonight and had a good variety of paper tears on hand, from hat to pants to mouse ears.

Fast forward 7 years - I’ve been using the hat paper tear for 13 years - the audience loves it. I get a female volunteer up on stage and we dance as we do the tear. I’ve been using Tongs (Magic by Pauline), but these are no longer available. Suds were good, but can’t get these either. I tried the India ones but they are crap. Opened one during the routine only to find the hat glued together - destroyed it when trying to open it. I just placed an order with Abbotts as a last resort / $30 with shipping for 10 or 12 hats. Will let you know how it turns out

Hello, I purchased Andy Amyx wizard hat tear from Penguin magic. No instructions, doesn't seem to be anyplace to ditch the torn pieces. Does anyone no where I can get instructions. Have emailed Andy, no response yet.
Thanks, David |

Make your own.use a gallon paint bucket for the shape.press a sheet of tissue on to it.Decorate with cut out tissue flowers,a train down the back,a hatband.cost pennies, each is unique.the bulk ones look cheap.you want the person to be proud to wear it and others wish they had one...
God's grace rocks! It makes a good cups and balls routine look pretty boring in comparison.
