How about a pen, deck of cards, or other small object you intend to use in a subsequent effect?

Well, I started with the usual three colored silks to three matching balls. I progressed at Christmas using red and white silks to create peppermint candies. The final incarnation resulted from getting that special something made from split plexi, like that weird glass we have used from time to time. The production started from three yellow silks placed into the cylinder becoming two 15 ft. yellow streamers, then six yellow dart flowers were produced. As an afterthought the outer cover was removed and the cylinder appeared to be filled with water and goldfish, which were poured into a bowl.
That's about as big as I cared to make it. Cheers!

When our son was entered into a stage contest 'way back when he was a young boy, we worked up a really good routine for him utilizing U.F. Grant's Crystal Silk Cylinder and Strat-O-Sphere's.
He even caught a few experienced magicians off guard with that one! Julie |

Over the years I have used this prop many times in trade shows and TV commercials for producing the customers' products. I have even used it at Company parties to produce employee Christmas Bonus checks.

You can do a humongous Mis-Made Flag with it using large silks and a very large flag. Paint the cylinder red and tuck a fuse in the top like a giant firecracker that keeps fizzling out. Then at the end, it finally "goes off" shooting a load of red, white and blue confetti stars everywhere.

Over the years I have found this prop to be extremely useful. In the 1980's I painted the Cylinder royal blue and I had 'Pac Men' running all around the cylinder. I stencilled ghosts on white silks which I put into the cylinder. For my final load I had balls with mouths cut out of them to show red. I spray painted the balls bright yellow and glued dolls eyes on them. Voila - a complete Pac Man theme.
I have produced Barbie dolls and Legos from the cylinder. Changing the outside is easy enough. You just need to use your imagination. Ray

Never thought of this before until reading through this...you could probably combine this with the gaffs from a passe passe or multiplying bottles set.
Also the balls could be seasonal...Christmas ornaments for...well....Christmas, mini pumpkins for Halloween, etc. Could also be used to produce something borrowed and "lost" from a spectator earlier, like a wallet. However, keeping in mind what Dick said, bulk up the load so it fills the prop. Like this weird idea: Some earlier effect makes a spectator's wallet vanish. You comment at least he was lucky...the last time you did it, a guy lost his shorts. Do a couple more things then move to crystal cylinder where the final production is a pair of men's khaki shorts with the missing wallet in one of the pockets. |

I use mine a lot at Birthday shows. I have the birthday child come up and place 4 small silks in the clear tube and in the end I have them remove the outer cylinders 1 at a time to reveal a small stuffed animal inside that they get to keep.
Goes over really well. Bob. |

Juggle the three balls- if you can juggle- like above the three silks can go to a lot of other effects-
