Hello guys,
I am into mentalism, and I was wondering, what props/effects do you carry with you all the time? |

Your mind.

In all seriousness though, just a few billets, business cards, and a small pencil to write down thoughts. Oh, and Matt Mello's Mental Bending. I like to keep it simple. Everything else is literally in your mind as in what kind of outs you have planned, reliable psychological forces, propless methods, etc...

Also, in yet another thread on this topic I mentioned having an Owl Card in my wallet as well. It is an illuminated magnifying glass, credit card sized, and works great for palm reading. Oh, and I always have a pendulum. I almost never use the stuff in my wallet but it is there in case I need it. Tony |

In my wallet I have some prefolded billets (3 x 5 index cards cut in half)
Some business cards and even one or two golf pencils. That's it. If you are looking for good propless mentalism I'd recommend you: Nico Heinrich "Pure Mentalism" series SOME of Peter Turner's work. Ever Elizalde's Manoeda (you can use it in conjuction with Tequila Hustler) But Magicdoc is right... train your mind and you won't need anything else. |

I usually always have B'Wave on me, as well as three business cards and a pen set up for Subli-Mental. But then I'm a bit biased 😜

I keep Unfazed in one shirt pocket, Imphinge in my other shirt pocket. I have a Weber Seer Wallet in my back pocket that rarely gets used, although I keep extre business cards in there to reset after doing Imphinge.
I carry a messenger bag, which contains various decks of cards, some of which are set up for specific effects, others not (i.e., just normal decks). That's the maximum I ever have with me. Ben

Oh yeah, I forgot. There's a B'wave setup in my Weber Wallet. I've replaced the blank faced cards with jokers. Just personal preference.

Unfazed is available for sale on my website. Imphnge is not being sold as a separate item, but for customers who purchase Unfazed, they also get a free download link to my IBM lecture, where I also teach the basic handling of Imphinge and a bunch of other routines from ASYMPTOTES. The free IBM lecture is probably something I'm going to discontinue soon, so if you're still on the fence about Unfazed and want to learn Imphinge, now would be a good time to make the purchase.
Hope that helps, Ben

Usually nothing. I love off-the-cuff propless stuff and if I need billets, I'll tear up some scrap paper around me.
I feel having or needing "gear" on you at all times is incongruent with being able to read minds. |

I'm a bizarrist, so what's in my "wallet" is a bit different than most.
First of all, my wallet is gimmicked to function both for p**ks and OTL. Inside is a Sanctum 2 card, a set of Carnazzo Zener Cards, Ouija cards from Rue Morgue magazine, and finally, my custom-made cards for Brother Shadow's "Pick A Sin." While I could do an entire show, I typically just pull it out whenever a new acquaintance finds out what I do for a hobby and I'm in the mood to give them a quick demonstration. Each effect has been chosen to range from the light and playful to the dark and sinister, depending on my mood and the general atmosphere of the situation. My philosophy is impromptu magic should only appear impromptu, not actually be so.

Literally in the wallet, just an index card ready for AN.
I am also always prepared for: - Mnemonics - Readings - Contact mind reading - Suggestion/Hypnosis - Force deflection (ala Lulu Hurst) But in all honesty I prefer not to perform impromptu. What sells me one-to-one or in small groups is my personality and conversation skills. All things being equal, if I am going to perform I want a stage and a captive audience. |

I was certainly never encouraging people to make it up as they go along. Impromptu does not mean unplanned. I agree with Philemon in this regard. Digging into the etymology of the word 'impromptu' brings out 'a readiness to bring forth, that which is at hand.' [French, from Latin in prōmptū, at hand : in, in; see in-2 + prōmptū, ablative of prōmptus, readiness, from past participle of prōmere, to bring forth.] Best regards, Anthony
